Women of the Southwest: A Legacy of Painting Now through August 24,

Scottsdale, Arizona Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West, Scottsdale, AZ. Experience the untold visual history of the American Southwest through the eyes of 25 groundbreaking women artists in “Women of the Southwest: A Legacy of Painting,” on display at Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West through August 24. This sweeping exhibition features nearly 200 works spanning oil, watercolor, pastel, and mixed media from early 20th-century pioneers like Lillian Wilhelm Smith, Jessie Benton Evans, and Ethel Murray Richardson—artists who lived and painted in Arizona, New Mexico, and beyond. As part of its “Cool Frontier” summer program, the museum offers Artist Tuesdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, where visitors can watch live Western artists at work. Bonus perks include indoor Spaghetti Western film screenings in the museum theater, and a BOGO admission special through September 30, making it an ideal summer destination.

Mustang Challenge Las Vegas July 10–12, 2025

Las Vegas, NV South Point Arena Witness the transformation of wild to willing as the Mustang Challenge Las Vegas returns July 10–12, 2025, at the South Point Arena. This celebrated event brings together top trainers from across the country who showcase the incredible progress of mustangs in just 100 days of training. With crowd-favorite freestyle routines, in-hand classes, and ridden events, the Mustang Challenge demonstrates the intelligence and versatility of America’s wild horses. Spectators can attend in person or watch the action streamed live on The EQUUS Television Network. Kids Miniature Horse Camp

Wednesdays & Thursdays July 10–11, 17–18, 24–25,

11080 Adonis Road, Marana, AZ 85653 A magical camp for kids aged 3 to 13 featuring miniatures, ponies, and full-size horses! Each camper receives a private riding lesson with world-class instructors. Activities include team building, art, crafts, a custom train ride around the ranch, a great obstacle course, and a water-sprinkled covered arena. Limited spaces. Arena, behind Perkins Cinders near Mile Marker 336 in Show Low. This popular mounted shooting event features separate day formats with distinct match options, payouts, and classes. Saturday, July 12 – Hosted by WMMS, Saturday features a full main match with a $120 entry and 50% payback to class (90% class, 10% overall). Additional events include Clean Multi Shooter for $30 with 100% payback, and Shotgun or Rifle matches for $60 with 50% payback. A second horse may be entered with extra ammo for $25. Wrangler entries are just $10 (no payback), and all competitors must pay a $30 grounds fee. Shotgun and rifle classes are available on Saturday only. The Guns Plus Shootout will also run during the day. Sunday, July 13 – Hosted by ACMSA Reloaded, Sunday is a three-stage main match with the same $120 entry and payback structure as Saturday. Clean Multi Shooter is again offered at $30 with full payback, and second horse ammo is available for $25. Wrangler and grounds fees remain the same. Riders can enjoy a full breakfast and lunch menu from the onsite snack bar, open at 7:00 AM both days. Free dry camping is available all weekend. Stalls are $25 per night and must be reserved in advance. Prepayment is accepted via Venmo (@cdyle1960) or Zelle (dyecountry@live.com) through July 10. This all-inclusive, small-group summer experience is designed for kids eager to learn about horses, ranch life, and the great outdoors. Hosted at a quiet private ranch in Seligman, AZ, each session includes daytime horse care, six riding sessions, and ranchbased activities, while evenings are spent enjoying the charm of historic Seligman.
