If we’re not hearing ideas and feedback, that’s when we’re concerned. We don’t expect 100% agreement with every decision; instead, we invite discussion and input so that everyone plays a part in the outcome.
How does your company support work-life balance for its employees, and what unique approaches have you taken in this area?
TowneBank is the first place I’ve been that gives employees the day off for their birthdays. The message is “Go and celebrate!” We also provide personal time, in addition to vacation time, for our teammates to be at the sidelines or in the audience for their kids’ games and performances. It’s important to TowneBank that our employees can show up for what matters to them. Additionally, volunteer time is allowed during the workday with a manager’s approval. “Serving others and enriching lives” does not just happen from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM inside the walls of the bank.
