SCHOOL I
t won’t be long before vacation season wraps up, the long July days turn slightly shorter with the arrival of August, and suddenly it’s time to stock up on school supplies. In Amarillo and Canyon, “school” is a broad concept. It applies to preschoolers just learning letters and numbers, to students building a public school foundation in K-12, and to aspiring college students, technicians-in-training and future physicians. This special section on education covers everything from our region’s tiniest learners at Opportunity School to the halls of higher education at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
