Message From The Executive Director
As our nation prepares to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence, Lander is getting ready for one of the most memorable Fourth of July celebrations anywhere. And honestly, Lander does it right.
John Adams once wrote to his wife Abigail that independence should be celebrated “with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other.” If that’s the standard, Lander definitely understands the assignment.
But as we celebrate liberty and look back on the founding principles of our country, we are reminded that the work of representation is never fully finished. In fact, one of the very concerns that helped spark the American Revolution is now being raised by a small but important part of Lander’s business community.
Several business owners have come to the Chamber with a concern they describe as taxation without representation. These are people who own and operate businesses inside Lander city limits, own property here, generate sales tax activity, pay property taxes, and are directly affected by City decisions. But because they live just outside city limits, they have no vote in municipal elections.
This conversation did not start from scratch. A few years ago, local leaders began looking into how many business owners might fit this category. The Chamber received that initial work, built upon it, and has now identified more than 45 individuals who appear to meet the preliminary criteria. We are still reviewing additional names, and early estimates suggest the total number could be closer to 115.
The next step is simple: place this issue on a City Council agenda so Lander can evaluate the proper mechanism, eligibility criteria, and administrative process.
This is not about bringing outsiders into Lander’s elections. It is about recognizing business stakeholders who are already deeply invested in Lander but excluded from formal representation.
Local investment deserves a local voice.

Keeping Lander Open for Business Through Hard Times
During the econ omic strain of the 1980s, as U.S. Steel closed and the uranium industry in Jeffrey City collapsed, the Lander Chamber worked to support individual businesses and strengthen the broader business climate. This Chamber marketing brochure highlighted member benefits, advocacy, and community leadership aimed at keeping Lander open for business through a difficult chapter and positioning the community for recovery.
As we look ahead, we also pause to honor the generations of past Chamber board chairs whose years of service, leadership, and steady commitment helped represent and advance the interests of Lander’s business community.

About Benessere Clinic
As Wyoming natives and long-term Fremont County residents, Dr. Anthony Lowham and Sandee Lewis DNP, understand the healthcare needs of our community firsthand. After many years as healthcare providers, they recognized that many of their patients were struggling with issues that went beyond traditional surgical and medical care — fatigue, hormonal imbalance, weight gain, and a general decline in quality of life.That recognition inspired a new direction.
Over the last decade, Dr. Lowham and Sandee Lewis DNP have developed a deep expertise in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) for both men and women.Together, they founded Benessere Clinic — benessere being the Italian word for “wellbeing” — with locations in Lander and Riverton.The clinic’s name reflects its mission: to help patients achieve whole-body health and lasting vitality.
Established in 2017, Benessere Clinic is a privately owned practice serving Lander, Riverton, and surrounding communities. Care extends well beyond hormone therapy — the team offers personalized nutrition guidance, fitness recommendations, medical weight loss therapy, and a full range of aesthetic services, all tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals.

Meet Our Team
Anthony Lowham, MD — Founder & Physician: As a Wyoming native and longtime Lander resident, Dr. Lowham brings over 25 years of experience as a General Surgeon and a decade of specialized expertise in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) for both men and women. His firsthand understanding of this community’s healthcare needs inspired him to co-found Benessere Clinic alongside Sandee Lewis, DNP — creating a place where patients can achieve whole-body health and lasting vitality.
Sandee Lewis, DNP — Co-Founder & Provider: Dr. Sandee Lewis is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) and a lifetime of roots right here in Fremont County. A co-founder of Benessere Clinic, Sandee brings remarkable depth of expertise across aesthetics, hormone therapy, and weight management. She has been honing her aesthetic skills since 2008 and is an advanced injector with extensive experience in neurotoxins and dermal fillers, a certified laser technician, and a body contouring specialist.
Jenny Wanner, RN / Aesthetician Born and raised right here in Lander, Jenny brings nearly 20 years of skincare expertise and a lifetime of community roots to Benessere Clinic. She earned her esthetics license in 2004 in Denver and her RN license in 2010, building a diverse nursing background in dialysis, psychiatric, and public health care before joining Benessere in 2021, where she pursued advanced training in cosmetic injections.
Elizabeth Kraestner — Aesthetician & Client Representative: Elizabeth brings over 6 years of results-driven skincare experience to Benessere Clinic, specializing in advanced treatments including laser, microneedling, and acne care. A certified laser technician, she has an impressive background spanning esthetician school, advanced skin training, teaching esthetics, and directing education — always focused on delivering real, visible results.
Ashley Eckley — Clinical Aesthetician: Ashley is a Wyoming-licensed Esthetician who completed her training at Central Wyoming College, inspired by her passion for helping others improve and maintain their health, wellness, and natural beauty. She has furthered her education through advanced aesthetics courses at the Aesthetic Next Conference in Dallas,TX (2022) and the International Spa and Aesthetics Conference in West Palm Beach, FL (2023), and holds a certification in Mastering Skin Conditions.
Emily Burke — Clinical Aesthetician: Emily is a Wyoming-licensed Esthetician who completed her aesthetics training at the Southwest Institute of Natural Aesthetics in Tempe, Arizona, and went on to earn certification as a Cosmetic Laser Technician. Driven by a genuine compassion for others, Emily is dedicated to educating her clients about skincare and helping them feel confident and well.
Skye Bentley — Clinical Administrator Skye has been a proud Fremont County resident for 23 years and is the friendly, organized force that keeps Benessere running smoothly behind the scenes.
Lisa Lowham — Project Manager: Lisa is the heart behind much of what happens at Benessere behind the scenes. She and her husband Tony married in 1992 and together raised four boys in Wyoming.
