Every year the Lander Chamber solicits nominations from the community for noteworthy businesses and individuals deserving recognition in the Lander community. Here are the winners:
Community
Community Awards Luncheon Volunteer of the Year AWARD Winner: Ariel Bernath Ariel volunteers at BrewFest, all the Lander Live events, the Ambassadors Extravaganza, and other events. Last summer, she volunteered over 17 hours at Lander LIVE concerts. Supported also by her employer, Teton Therapy, Ariel states that she loves her community, and tries to do whatever she can to support it and contribute to making it the magical place that it is.
Rookie of the Year Award Winner: The Mill House Recipient: Jill Hunter In March 2017, a new boutique hotel was born, filling
Community’s Appreciation Award Winner: Beau Wendling Beau Wendling owned the historic building that had been built in 1892 on the corner of 2nd St. and Main. This corner building was transformed and renovated with an appealing and modern exterior. Then on Aug. 1, 2017 the entire building was tragically lost to a fire. The quick response in cleaning the site was truly amazing and appreciated by all.
Employee of the Year Award Winner: Courtney Hansen, Fremont Therapy Physical therapy following surgery, an accident, or just wear and tear of life can be difficult, painful, and stressful‌ but with Courtney Hansen it is warm, encouraging, understanding, fun, positive, and tough. She is part friend, coach, slave driver, counselor, and patient advocate. Courtney is certainly a valuable asset to Fremont Therapy Group and a true ambassador for the Lander community.

The Anchor Award Winner: Reed’s Moghaun Office Supply Recipient: Don, Sonia, Bernie Reed On Feb. 22, Reed’s Moghaun Office Supply celebrated their 30th anniversary of providing office supplies and scrap booking materials. Reed’s has successfully been through the tests of the up and down of economic times and found their place among the challenges of big box stores and online competition. Reeds is has solidly been the place to go for science fair display boards and more. Chamber Past-President Award Winner: Lorielle Morton Lorielle served 6 years on the Chamber’s Board of Directors, with the last 2 years serving at President. During her tenure, Lorielle helped bring on new board members, lead the transition between Executive Directors and lent strength and guidance to launch the Chamber building project. Lorielle was rock solid during her tenure and has a great ability to find a balance between leadership and support.
Beautification Award Winner: Bhava Shala Recipient: Jagoe and Trey Warren Bhava Shala is the centerpiece of the restoration of the historical grain mill by Trey and Jagoe Warren. Loosely translated it means “The House of Elevated Moods” and that is exactly what happens after one spends time in this warm, serene space. The Shala used to be the storage room for milled flour thus nourishing the community. Now the space nourishes Lander by connecting our community thru a variety of gatherings and offerings.
Chamber Ambassador of the Year Winner: John Boulette John Boulette has a strong record of contribution and dedication to the Lander Chamber Ambassadors. In particular, John spearheaded the silent auction committee for the Extravaganza event and his personal efforts contributed significantly towards the money raised and donated to the Lander Chamber in support of the new building project.

Lifetime Contribution Award Winner: Joe Kenney Joe Kenney has been in communications and broadcasting since his high school days. Joe’s been an involved player and supporter of our community both at work and on his own. He has become known as the “voice” of Lander at countless events throughout the years. Joe has never done something he felt he HAD to do -rather he just got out there and did it.
