I’ve come across a couple of tools that may make your painting jobs around the house a little easier. The first is a free ap from Home Depot called “Project Color.” Just search in your app store to find it. You can browse their selection of colors to get ideas. You can even take a picture of a paint color you want to match and it will make a suggestion for what paint they have that is the closest match. The coolest feature is that you can take a picture of a room, then choose a paint color, and the app will digitally “paint” the walls on your screen so you can see how it may look in real life as you compare colors. If you want to take it a step further, there is a product you can buy that will provide an even better paint match. It’s called the Nix Mini 2 Color Sensor. It’s about $100 and they will ship you this little sensor that will pair with your phone. You hold the sensor up to the paint you are trying to match. It will compare that

n support of a longtime resident with failing health, the community of Oakley found a unique way to celebrate during COVID-19. The Columbiettes along with St. Anthony Knights of Columbus and the Squirettes recently coordinated a festive event for Harriet Zych — who served as a City of Oakley secretary and contributed over 20 years to both the farm bureau board and the St. Anthony senior food bank. This means if you can’t find the perfect match in stock, the right paint store may be able to mix a custom blend for you. Their sensor lies flat against the surface you are trying to match and comes with it’s own light source. This means it will match paint much more accurately than a free app like the one I mentioned above that can be affected by the ambient light. There are many other apps and products like this.
