Fast-food chains are seemingly clogging one of Brentwood’s main arteries. Brentwood Boulevard, a street the city considers to be “a major gateway into Brentwood,” has nearly a dozen drive-through options in a relatively short stretch of road. Following the July 22 meeting of the City Council, local ordinances may soon prohibit more fast-food drive-throughs on that street. “I don’t want to see any more drive-throughs on Brentwood Boulevard; I think that we do a disservice,” Councilmember Jovita Mendoza said during the discussion. “Little by little, our city, our

all reported increases in both participation and pass rates. Liberty High School improved its pass rate from 59% to 67%, while Heritage High School reached 80%. The district also hosted SAT testing, with 350 students taking advantage of the local venue because booking space for students to take the test is so tight. But academics weren’t the only place students shone. “LUHSD students excelled not only in academics but also in athletics and the arts,” Rugani said. “In 2024, 22 fall sports teams advanced to the North Coast Section (NCS) playoffs. The 2025 spring season brought historic victories, including Liberty High School’s girls softball team winning the Division 1 NCS champion-
