Spotlight on Academics and Student Life Physical Computing and Robotics Showcase

Classroom Podcasts

Students demonstrated their capstone projects completed in Mrs. Claudette Guy’s Physical Computing and Robotics class during the first annual Student Showcase. The capstone projects were a pinnacle of what students have learned in the class about sensors, microprocessors, and output devices. They prototyped automatic watering devices, robot candy dispensers that don't fall off tables, motion detectors, security systems, and a student-driven attendance system.

ND English teacher, Mrs. Cindy Bannon, recently introduced technology upgrades to her Journalism classroom. She has been working tirelessly to create an atmosphere where she can incorporate instructional media into her students’ everyday lessons. To this end, Mrs. Bannon established a small podcast studio. Creating a podcast has been added as a final project option for Journalism 1 students.
