School board re-elects chair and vice chair By MEGHAN BRADBURY

With new members of the Lee County School Board sworn in on Nov. 19, the board selected it chair and vice chair, keeping the members who served in the roles before the Nov. Sam 5 General Election. Fisher Sam Fisher was reelected as chair and Jada LangfordFleming was re-elected as vice chair. Board Member Debbie Jordan, who nominated herself for both positions, voted against the motions to Jada keep them in their Langford-Fleming roles. JOG N JAM to feature 10K/5K, kids run and concert By TIFFANY REPECKI

There is still time to participate in an annual fundraiser to benefit FISH of Sanibel-Captiva. The 2024 JOG N JAM will take place on Dec. 7 on the islands. It will kick off in the morning with the 10K and 5K

Walk/Run at The Community House on Sanibel, including the Kids Fun Run at the Sanibel Community Park. Later that evening, a concert featuring the band Funk You and fireworks on the beach will be held at the 'Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa on Captiva. See JOG N JAM, page 19

City reports on stormwater management for past season The city of Sanibel reported that its Public Works Department actively managed the city's weirs throughout the hurricane season and proactively adjusted levels to manage potential rainfall associated with storm events. The Sanibel Slough system is the main mechanism for surface water management for portions of Sanibel between Beach Road on the east end and the Chateaux Sur Mer subdivision at its westernmost point.
