Chamber to host State of the Islands The SanCap Chamber will host its second annual breakfast presentation on the State of the Islands 2025 on Jan. 22 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa in Fort Myers. The presentation will highlight recent progress made in several fields, featuring on each topic. representatives Registration will open at 8 a.m., with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. The program will begin at 9 a.m. “State of the Islands brings the business community up-to-date on the many facets of island commerce, based on survey results and other data,” chamber President and Chief Executive Officer John Lai said. “This important presentation will be held in lieu of the January business luncheon. Shell museum to kick off series with first lecture The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium on Sanibel is set to kick off its seasonal Lecture Series at the museum, at 3075 Sanibel-Captiva Road, Sanibel. An upcoming island event will connect community members with local volunteer opportunities. Presented by the Charitable Foundation of the Islands (CFI), the 2025 Volunteer Expo will take place on Jan. 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Community House on Sanibel.
