GETTING SET TO DRIVE THE WORLD At Branksome, the phrase ‘Too Bold, Too Bad’ acts as an invitation. For centuries, women were told to be quiet and apologetic. Embracing boldness rejects this narrative and empowers me and my peers to unapologetically take up space. In addition to fostering this mindset, Branksome provides us with the tools to find and use our voice. Personally, the arts have been integral to achieving such growth, as I have gained both a creative outlet and the confidence to speak out. I’ve been dancing since I was four—mostly jazz and hip-hop—and now I serve as a Senior Dance Leader. I’ve been part of both the Preparatory and Senior dance companies, where we’ve had guest choreographers from the NBA’s Toronto Raptors North Side Crew teach us in a variety of dance styles. It has been an incredible experience. I’m also truly interested in AI—especially the business side of it. I was the student host for Branksome’s “Innovation in Action” event in May, focusing on prominent Branksome community members working in AI. The speakers reinforced the idea that despite the evolution of technology, human collaboration is still vital. There’s so much potential we haven’t unlocked yet, and I want to be part of that progression.

OUR BACKSTORY The full-page photographs of our students, captured at Branksome Hall in June 2025, were brought to life in imagined future careers by merging them with AI-generated environments. We chose AI because it represents the future—transforming industries, reshaping possibilities and expanding how we envision what’s next. By combining real portraits with AI’s limitless creative potential, we celebrate the boundless futures our students are preparing to lead.

While the development of AI is daunting, Branksome is doing a great job showing us how to use AI effectively and safely. In class, we use it to generate ideas and expand our thinking, while also learning to question and refine its content. AI is integrated, not ignored, giving me and many others the skills and confidence to face the future of technology.

From the very first day, we have been reminded of the warmth and generosity of this extraordinary community. Whether meeting students in classrooms, cheering them on in co-curricular activities or speaking with families and alums, we have seen first-hand the energy, curiosity and courage that define Branksome Hall.

Your generosity also fuels our Financial Assistance and Opportunity Fund programs, key pillars in our mission to create access and enrich every girl’s journey. One in five new Senior School students began their Branksome experience on a supported path this year. This is transformative impact and it’s all thanks to you.

Together, we have witnessed how a Branksome education empowers students to challenge the status quo and imagine new possibilities. Our community thrives on collaboration, compassion and a shared commitment to shaping the next generation of leaders—and this year has only deepened our belief in that mission.

Our students continue to amaze us with their ambition. The Class of 2025 earned more than 700 university offers, including nine Ivy League acceptances and more than $6 million in scholarships. These outcomes reflect more than academic excellence; they speak to a community that believes in girls’ potential and invests in their success.

Our theme, “Too Bold? Too Bad!” captures the essence of what we stand for. In a world where women remain underrepresented in many fields, we’re equipping our students to claim their space with knowledge, skill and confidence. We’re shattering glass ceilings not only for our girls, but for philanthropy itself. Historically, girls’ schools have received only a fraction of the support afforded to boys’ schools. With just one year remaining in our campaign, we celebrate the extraordinary progress already made, while boldly working to change the story—not only for philanthropy at girls’ schools, but for women in the workplace everywhere.

As we begin shaping our next Strategic Plan, we do so with bold ideas and a deep commitment to listening, learning and leading together. Branksome students are launching real ventures in Grade 10—thanks to Noodle. Primarily funded by donors, 106 students built 51 businesses in 2024–25.

From Model UN to the World Debate Championships, our girls are building confidence and diplomacy on the global stage. Two consecutive world champions. Dozens of awards. All before university. (See page 25.)

And when iCAST opens next year, our capacity to evolve our programming is only going to accelerate. Because of your support, Branksome girls are building real businesses in Grade 10. They’re taking top honours at global public speaking and debating championships, prototyping AI tools in the Junior School and learning to lead in industries where only 5 per cent of the workforce looks like them. They’re not waiting for permission to join the future—they’re claiming it with confidence. We’re amplifying our commitment to prepare our girls for careers where women are under-represented—and where Branksome girls can lead. THEIR FUTURE’S SO BRIGHT Welcome Back Celebration Reflects on Bright Horizons It was part pep rally, part block party and all Branksome spirit on September 12. The countdown is on as iCAST’s 2026 opening comes solidly into view after a busy summer of construction. With a party on the west campus and the only building of its kind in Canada set to open on the east side, this was a milestone Welcome Back, and at Branksome Hall, the future has never looked brighter.

More than 1,000 students, parents, faculty, staff and community members packed the grounds outside the Athletics & Wellness Centre (AWC). The event opened with a hip-hop dance performance and roaring Clan cheers. Student emcees Head Prefect Emmi and Arts & Innovation Prefect Shanela got the crowd cheering: “Their future’s so bright, we’ve gotta wear shades!”

TOAST TO $38.55M—AND COUNTING!

Grace McCallum and BHPA president Devon Parsons took the stage to celebrate the incredible $38.6 million raised to date for Make Way, thanking donors, volunteers and the Campaign Cabinet for making it possible. As Grace reminded us, “We’re not done yet!” In this final year of the campaign, the full strength of our community will be needed to reach the finish line and open iCAST in 2026.

Branksome’s Welcome Back event included a special donor reception on the AWC terrace to celebrate generosity at its finest.

From student musicians to Raptors North Side Crew dancer Manpreet Singh’s dance-along, the afternoon was packed with talent and connection. Highlights included generously sponsored food stations and dunk-tank splashes featuring staff and faculty who were up for the challenge. School-Wide Commitment to Building Bold Leaders

iCAST is a space for everyone—from JK to Grade 12—and it is absolutely going to transform how our students learn. As an Apple Distinguished School, we already lead in innovation, but this is our boldest step yet. This is the only building of its kind in North America, and it will reshape what is possible—for our students, our teachers and our community.

Lighting the Stage: Grade 5 + Grade 8 Collaboration Grade 5 students become lighting engineers as they design custom lighting scenes for Grade 8 monologues. Harnessing iCAST’s professional-grade tension grid, they’ll analyze each performance’s emotion, then craft dramatic lighting effects that bring it to life—turning science, art and tech into a live theatre experience.

Our first priority is interdisciplinary learning, because we know that the real world doesn’t live in subject silos. iCAST makes this possible every day. The spaces are intentionally designed so students can flow seamlessly from science to design to art, learning the way the real world works—collaboratively, creatively and without silos. Second, we are giving students the chance to go deeper than ever before in their disciplines. The advanced equipment is industry-standard—the same tools professionals use. Whether it’s a Grade 4 student building her first prototype or a Grade 12 student conducting an IB science investigation, they can take their work to an entirely new level of precision and possibility. And third, we are opening our doors to the world. We are expanding our Expert-inResidence program, building on the success of Noodle, our business incubator. We are offering partnerships with the Rotman School of Management and our Slingshot Innovation Academy, creating opportunities for students beyond our walls to collaborate, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, build confidence and gain valuable real-world experience. Students will learn directly from entrepreneurs, researchers and industry leaders, and gain hands-on experience with AI, innovation and the future of work.

Designing for Play: JK + Grade 10 Collaboration This project turns JK students into tiny consultants and Grade 10 students into toy designers. Using iCAST’s industry-level machines, teams will design and prototype interactive toys that build fine-motor skills—testing, tweaking and perfecting their creations with feedback straight from their pint-sized clients. The result? Empathy, problemsolving and professional-quality designs that work in the real world.

The old adage used to be about finding the right answer—now it’s about asking the right questions. That is what iCAST is designed to do. We are nurturing bold, resilient leaders who will take risks. We teach girls to hear ‘no’ as ‘not yet’—and to keep pushing forward with courage and conviction in a world where the only constant is change.

F1 in Schools: Interdisciplinary Innovation Senior students design and build an F1 dragster using iCAST’s advanced fabrication tools. They manage the project end-to-end—tracking build time; budgeting; and creating branding, logos and marketing materials using the iCAST finishing booth. Teams then pitch for funding to students acting as investors, presenting a proposal and marketing plan to secure support for their F1 project.

As someone working in AI, I see firsthand how quickly the world is changing. The future my daughters are stepping into will look nothing like the one we began in—it will be shaped by automation, human augmentation and global connectivity. That’s why I’m so excited about iCAST. It gives them more than just tools; it will instill a mindset: adaptability, experimentation, collaboration. It’s about preparing them to create the future, not just react to it.

I get frustrated because the real problem in tech is often overlooked—there simply aren’t enough women coders. When the people designing technology all come from similar backgrounds, the tools they build don’t meet everyone’s needs, especially those who could benefit most. A big part of the issue is perception: tech roles are often presented in a way that feels gendered, making it seem like women aren’t as capable, even though we are. Girls aren’t always encouraged to pursue tech—our strengths are often channelled elsewhere. But if a girl is great at coding and no one nurtures that, her talent goes untapped.

I hope my daughters will use iCAST as a place to explore ideas fearlessly. For them, iCAST is a safe space to try, fail and try again, which is exactly what entrepreneurship and innovation require. I want them to see themselves as builders, storytellers and leaders—roles that extend beyond STEM into every field.

When I first came to Branksome, I was so excited to be at such a big school. Within the first month, I fell in love with coding—I could finally bring all the ideas in my head to life by solving the problems that bug me most. I co-created StackCode, a project-based platform that teaches coding through interactive activities, AI and the design cycle.

What impresses me most is Branksome’s commitment to preparing girls not just for university, but for leadership in a world where the rules are still being written. iCAST’s interdisciplinary approach—blending science, design and storytelling—mirrors how real-world change happens. Canada’s future will be built on innovation, creativity and inclusivity. We need leaders who can connect technology with humanity exactly the kind of thinking iCAST fosters. I imagine my girls as part of a generation shaping the world in ways we can’t yet predict, and Branksome is giving them the foundation to do just that.

Building on that, we launched AceAdemic, an app for selfand time-management. There’s a visual checklist, a shrinking timer and calming breaks like contour drawing. Branksome supported me at every step—I started coding in Grade 1, then learned HTML and Swift, and in Grade 4 I joined the Apple Student Mentorship Program.

STEM skills are critical for success. Branksome stood out to us because it is aiming to close the hiring gap over the coming years for Surina and students who come after her.

We support Stepping Stones because it’s investing in future generations at a time when the world is in transition—both globally and close to home. [iCAST is] a real opportunity for students to build critical thinking and interdisciplinary skills, with an added dimension of leadership. The ability to become immersed at an early age in an ecosystem like iCAST is a unique opportunity and one that we wholeheartedly support.

As a former engineer [Dan], I’ve always been drawn to how things work. Now, I get to explore that curiosity with our daughters. It’s exciting to see Branksome putting tech and innovation in front of girls from a young age. For Laura, STEM wasn’t something made accessible to girls growing up. We love that Chloe and Eloise now have that opportunity to experiment, fail and try again.

One ‘aha’ moment came when Chloe excitedly described how her imagination could become real through opportunities in class for coding and robotics. Moments like that—turning ideas into something tangible—build confidence and curiosity. Whether Chloe is crafting clothes for her doll from foil or talking about tech of the future, we see her connecting creativity with problem-solving. iCAST will give our girls the tools to discover how things work and how they can shape the world around them.

I see the growing role technology will play in our daughters’ futures. An understanding is essential for their careers, for our country and for society.

The statistics are crazy—91 per cent of Hollywood directors are male and only 9 per cent of directors or executive producers are women. It’s 2025 and only two females have been nominated for “Best Director” in the history of the Oscars, let alone won the award.

A huge part of my work is thinking about the future of work— how it will be transformed by technology, and how critical it is for individuals to bring human skills like thinking, communication and creative expression into the business world. But more than IQ or EQ, I believe AQ—adaptability quotient—now surpasses everything. The world is changing so fast.

I want to pursue cinematography in post-secondary school, maybe even become a director, and I want to break gender barriers like the women in arts before me. Two prominent female directors I really look up to are Farah Khan and Sharmeen ObaidChinoy—they show that music and dance can be an integral part of film. Greta Gerwig especially inspires me—her films’ narratives are driven by her heroines, which is something you rarely see in mainstream media. Too often, female characters are either portrayed negatively or just objectified. The overall industry is still so unrealistic in terms of equal representation. There needs to be more space and opportunity for women to pursue this field— to share their own narratives and perspectives without male perceptions of women getting in the way.

What we do in our day-to-day lives has to evolve constantly. Adaptability is more important than how smart you are. It’s about being open to learning, growing and changing as a result of new information. When you see change, do you lean in or pull back? That mindset—being willing to evolve—is what the next generation of leaders need, and Branksome and iCAST are fostering that. They take down the fear and hesitation, and spark curiosity. My daughter has always been passionate about arts and technology, and iCAST is an engaging, approachable environment that helps build confidence and shows every child a path forward. At Branksome in IB Film, we study lots of films by women with diverse stories about gender and sexuality, which you don’t really see in mainstream media. And iCAST will be an amazing opportunity to finally have the space and tools to allow girls like me to follow our dreams in filmmaking and cinematography, as women have been held back by lack of resources for too long. A special spotlight on theatre is also important for iCAST. It’s not a traditional stage. The audience surrounds the action, which allows for more interactivity. And because the physical stage and atmosphere are malleable, we can tear the set down, rebuild it or completely change the backdrop based on artistic expression. That’s what the arts need—flexibility. There are so many creative people here, but they haven’t had the facilities to show what they can do. iCAST makes space for that creativity. In our directing and cinematography unit, we got to work with boom mics, camera setups, tripods and dollies. A proper space for filmmaking has been needed at school for a long time, and iCAST will provide that.

Branksome Hall gave me the confidence, voice and critical skills to thrive in a maledominated field like engineering—which is why I chose to give back through the Alum Wall. From the beginning, I was encouraged not only to lead but to explore deeply, think critically and present myself to the world with confidence and purpose. I co-led the World Affairs Conference and co-created a national award-winning science fair project that proposed using eye-movement data and symptom-tracking to help detect early signs of Alzheimer’s. That experience—combining healthcare, technology and innovation—sparked my interest in AI and its power to drive change. If I’d had iCAST, I would have pushed that Alzheimer’s project even further. With the right tools and expert mentors, students will now be able to test, prototype and explore at a whole new level. That’s why I’m so excited about iCAST. It’s not just the incredible space—it’s the mindset it builds. iCAST gives students early access to tools, mentorship and hands-on projects, which are essential to sparking curiosity and building real-world skills. It also levels the playing field—girls can innovate, push boundaries and lead without hesitation.

My advice to current students? Make the most of what iCAST has to offer. If what you need isn’t there, create it. Take risks, make mistakes and, most importantly, learn. Branksome taught me to do just that. Giving back is my way of ensuring future students have the same empowering experience I did.

Branksome gave me the strength and stamina to speak up and be heard— not just at university but in boardrooms too. Growing up with two brothers, I know how easy it can be to get drowned out. But at Branksome, in an all-girls environment, I had the space to find my voice, take risks and build real confidence. Rowing taught me grit. Debating taught me how to think on my feet. And the incredible faculty—Mrs. Hay, Mr. McVay, Mme. Aucouturier, Mme. Mustos, Mrs. Chiltern, Miss Brough—set the tone in the halls and the standards in the classroom.

As a result, she got a few coffee meetings and even a job offer from DW Healthcare Partners, a private equity firm, where she’s driving AI innovation to transform how the firm and its portfolio companies operate, make strategic decisions and scale impact.

I was really impressed with iCAST’s breadth of industry—robotics, the arts, artificial intelligence, prototype manufacturing—all designed to engage even Branksome’s youngest learners. Giving young women early practice to hone specific workplace skills in male-dominated fields will help level the playing field by giving them a competitive and early advantage as they enter post-secondary classrooms, and boardrooms. I am particularly impressed with iCAST’s Pitch Space, an ingenious way to provide a creative and nurturing place to practise a sales pitch, get expert feedback and polish communications and presentation skills. These are daunting yet critical life skills. Mastering them will make you polished, poised and confident. Many MBA programs have a class on these; imagine the advantage of stepping in on your first day sounding like a pro! Supporting Branksome is an easy decision because I believe so strongly in its mission and values, and being part of its lifelong community. We’re passionate about supporting iCAST because it’s helping students develop the essential ability to communicate clearly and think critically. That’s a vital part of what separates future leaders from followers.

From the moment I walked into my first debate round at Branksome, I was encouraged to be ‘too bold, too bad.’ I learned to walk into any room, hold eye contact and shake a hand with confidence—even when everyone else was nervous. That 10 seconds of bravery taught me how to break the ice, make others feel at ease and connect with anyone, anywhere.

After our hard-hat tour of iCAST, what struck us was that the physical space felt like a launchpad—built to spark curiosity, not contain it. The openness, the design, the energy—it all felt future-facing. Branksome is setting the pace for innovation and entrepreneurship because it’s not waiting for students to become adults before they become innovators. I appreciate how the school is fostering a culture of experimentation and critical thinking. Traditionally, this hasn’t been something schools have focused on enough.

At Worlds in Kuala Lumpur, I debated alongside some 100 of the best speakers—and best people—from around the globe. We built chairs for an underfunded school, made cards for families affected by tragedy and supported each other through every speech. I made friends for life and became more globally minded, quicker on my feet and simply a better person.

We’re excited for our daughters to build, pitch, fail, learn and discover what works and excites them—and, importantly, to do all this before they’re adults. Victoria has already had a big ‘aha moment’ when she was researching and building a digital report about pandas. You could see it click—that spark of discovery and pride in learning something on her own.

At Branksome, I said yes to everything: business case competitions, public speaking and international debates. I found my voice. I discovered my passion. And I saw how math and law—two fields I love—intersect like pieces of a puzzle, letting me build persuasive arguments with precision and logic.

As someone working in legal tech [Matthew], I think iCAST will accelerate students’ ability to develop the mindset needed to succeed and scale in life and career—whatever that might be. Chloe lost her father in 2023. You don’t have to wait until you’re older to dream big. Running a business has helped us figure out what we enjoy and where we thrive. You don’t need to be good at everything—that’s why you build a team. People think it’s a hobby, but it’s real and it’s growing. Collaboration has been such a big part of this journey. We’ve learned how to step up, compromise, stay organized and solve problems—together.

Hands-on experiences like those in iCAST allow the girls to experiment, take risks in a safe space and see their ideas come to life. By giving the girls these opportunities from an early age, iCAST ensures they grow up without feeling limited by their gender. iCAST doesn’t just teach STEM skills; it blends them with the arts, helping the girls approach challenges creatively, think critically and design solutions that are both innovative and human-centred.

Igniting a Passion for STEM At this year’s Senior & Middle School A-STEMbly, Branksome students showcased their scientific curiosity through live experiments— including a bottle rocket launch and a dramatic liquid nitrogen demonstration. Led by the STEM Council, the event also introduced a new online portal spotlighting women in STEM and engaged the audience with an interactive STEM-themed Jeopardy-like game. These hands-on experiences continue to spark innovation and leadership in the sciences.

The Junior School’s vibrant student art exhibition brought creativity to life, with work spanning painting, clay sculpture, wood engraving and more. Featuring artists from JK to Grade 6, the display highlighted each student’s unique voice and their exploration of design principles and personal expression. Presented during Student-Led Conferences, the show was a joyful celebration of artistic growth across the grades.

Theatre Brings Stories to Life

Branksome Hall proudly celebrates the rich cultural diversity that defines its community through a series of joyful and meaningful events. On January 29, the school welcomed the Year of the Wood Snake with a lively Lunar New Year celebration, featuring crafts, student performances and traditional foods that brought families together in a spirit of joy and renewal. In April, two significant community dinners deepened this spirit of connection. On April 10, families gathered to mark the end of Ramadan with a warm and welcoming Eid al-Fitr celebration, sharing stories and meals in a joyful atmosphere. Later that month, on April 25, the school hosted a heartfelt Shabbat Dinner, offering a moment of reflection, tradition and togetherness. These events underscore Branksome Hall’s dedication to acknowledging and celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures and traditions within its school community.

A vibrant theatre program, supported by generous donors and the Annual Fund, continues to captivate audiences with impressive student productions. Most recently, the Middle School Theatre Department brought Roald Dahl’s beloved James and the Giant Peach to life, performed on May 7 and 8 in the Aga Khan Museum’s auditorium. The whimsical and heartwarming play showcased the imagination and joy of Branksome’s young actors and crew members. Senior School students delivered a giddy performance of Emma! A Pop Musical on December 4 and 5, also at the Aga Khan Museum. This production was a testament to the diverse talents within the Middle and Senior Schools, featuring non-stop singing, incredible dance choreography and the collaborative efforts of actors, singers, dancers, production crew and musicians.

30 Years of Literature and Arts Branksome Hall’s beloved literary and arts magazine, Perennial, marked its 30th anniversary this year—and three decades of showcasing student voice, vision and imagination. Led by Senior Editors Emma, Sylvia and Naomi, with support from a dedicated junior team, Perennial continues to champion Branksome’s creative spirit. Together, they curate three seasonal digital editions and a signature spring print issue, often cherished by graduates as a time capsule of their final year.

2024–25 was the U10 Soccer Team’s first year.

The Senior Flag Football Team won silver at the CISAA Championships in only their second year.

Spring Successes Rowers brought home medals from Nationals. The Ultimate Frisbee team— the Knightlanders—earned their first-ever OFSAA berth. Rugby returned to Branksome after more than a decade, this time in the fast-paced sevens format. With a strong debut and growing enthusiasm, the new team, led by coaches Carlene Rotherham and Paddy Watson, is already making its mark. Throughout the year, our coaches, student athletes and Elite Athletes Program prioritized excellence, growth and balance on and off the field.

We chose to support the Opportunity Fund because it represents everything we value about Branksome—a school that encourages exploration, not specialization. Our daughter Camilla didn’t come here with one fixed direction. She’s discovered her passions by experiencing the full width of opportunity: languages, the arts, STEM—all of it. iCAST is a perfect example of this kind of learning environment. Even though the building is now complete, the work isn’t over. OPPORTUNITY FUND

Global Champion Debaters A historic moment came when Helen ZIOMECKI’25 won the World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships in Malaysia—Branksome’s second straight win following Anna Gage’s 2024 title (read more about Helen on page 25). This rare back-to-back victory places Branksome among only three schools in WIDPSC history to achieve this milestone. Branksome students are making their voices heard around the world. Branksome also won the Canadian Student Debating Federation’s award for top Canadian school at the International Independent Schools’ Public Speaking Competition. As well, Re:Solved—our global competition—drew entries from three continents. This year’s theme, “Democracy in 2024,” sparked passionate debate, with the winning team taking home $5,000 in Toronto.

STEAM in Action: Tools That Inspire

Model UN: Building Global Leaders Branksome Hall’s Model United Nations (MUN) program thrived in 2024–25, with 81 students participating in five major conferences, including our own Branksome MUN, held in February 2025, which welcomed international delegates. At the University of Toronto MUN (UTMUN), held in February, Grade 9 students Ari and Thea earned delegate awards, and Grade 12 student Chloe received an Honourable Mention. At the Southern Ontario MUN Assembly (SOMA) in April 2025, Grade 12 student Miranda was recognized with the Lester B. Pearson Award for Peace Making. Branksome delegates also attended the Secondary Schools United Nations Symposium (SSUNS) at McGill University last November, where students won five individual awards. As well, students participated in Columbia MUN for High Schools in January and Upper Canada College MUN last October, where they deepened their understanding of current global issues and engaged in spirited debate.

Rowing: Strength, Speed and Support

Where Art Meets Innovation Creative theatricality is waiting to take center stage with Nocturne—a spectacular, student-led celebration of land, identity and imagination. This interdisciplinary performance will bring together dance, storytelling and more, made possible through donor support and mentorship from Red Sky Performance whose founder, Sandra Laronde, recently received the 2025 Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for a Lifetime Achievement in Dance.

Branksome’s Junior School iHUB is getting a major upgrade— empowering our youngest learners to explore, design and innovate like never before. New cutting-edge equipment is transforming STEAM learning. For example, the Bambu Lab 3D printer slashes print time by 80 per cent, allowing students to move rapidly from idea to prototype—essential for mastering design thinking. LEGO robotics kits are enhancing robotics programming, preparing students for competitions and global problem-solving. With Rode wireless microphones, students can now record podcasts or digital stories anywhere on campus, building their voice and media literacy. Other additions include energy monitors for climate learning, pyrography (fire-burning pens), wildlife cameras for auditing raccoons and other wildlife on our woodlot, and safety goggles paired with coding robots to ensure every science experiment is both creative and safe.

Branksome’s rowers delivered a standout season, capturing 32 podium finishes—including two national golds—at regattas across Canada and the U.S. Highlights of the fall include major Head races such as the Head of the Charles in Boston and the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia, where they secured a silver medal. A year of rigorous training led to the pinnacle event: the Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Association National Championships in St. Catharines, where the Novice Women’s 8+ and the Junior Women’s Lightweight 63kg 4+ took first place. Thanks to donor generosity, the team is also set to welcome a brand-new eightperson shell in 2026, propelling future success on the water. 33

Noodle: Building Business from the Ground Up The entrepreneurial spirit was on full display at the 2025 Noodle Expo in April, where 106 Middle and Senior School students launched 51 creative ventures—from stylish fashion brands and handcrafted accessories to innovative snacks and eco-friendly products. Fuelled by $15,500 in donor-funded startup capital, 31 new businesses were developed and brought to life this school year through Branksome’s signature business program. Continually evolving, the program offers students the opportunity to pitch, produce and sell their products directly to the school community—gaining firsthand experience in entrepreneurship, customer relations and business strategy. Along the way, they build lasting confidence and practical skills to lead, create and take initiative.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Supporting financial assistance has always been deeply meaningful to us—not just because it allows talented students to attend Branksome, but because of the richness they bring to the entire community. These students often come from very different life experiences, and when they share their stories, it opens the eyes of their peers. It promotes understanding, empathy and, ultimately, deeper learning. We’ve seen firsthand how financial assistance unlocks promise and also allows students to attend the Grade 9 trip to South Korea. It’s amazing to see a Grade 9 student—whose participation was only possible because of financial assistance— engage so fully, ask thoughtful questions and grow her understanding of the world around her.

We give to Branksome because we are passionate about girls’ education. But it is not just a passion. Educating girls is a strategic investment with exponential benefit, empowering girls to impact the world around them. Financial aid is vital to ensure every girl, regardless of her family’s financial means, has access to this experience, thereby creating a more diverse community.

On a personal note, Branksome gave me an experience that will last a lifetime. As a student, I was challenged beyond expectations, gaining confidence and discovering my voice. One teacher in particular truly shaped my journey. She saw my potential and encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone—a true confidence booster that stayed with me.

As we prepare to move on to other exciting opportunities, continuing to support FA feels like the most meaningful way to say goodbye. I also met many of my closest friends at Branksome. We went to university together, stood as bridesmaids at each other’s weddings and celebrated our children’s births. Today, we still gather for dinners, spend time with our families and support one another through both joyful and difficult times.

ENSURING BOLD DREAMS GROW FOUNDATION BOARD NAMED, ENDOWED AND EXPENDABLE FUNDS Established in 2004, the Branksome Hall Foundation manages the school’s endowment, which grew by nearly 7 per cent this past year to reach $28.1 million. Each year, the Foundation provides a meaningful disbursement that fuels every corner of school life— from ensuring financial assistance for students who need it, to strengthening our campus through capital projects and ongoing care, to advancing curriculum, arts, athletics, music and student recognition through prizes and awards.

Guided by an independent, volunteer Board of Trustees, the Foundation manages Branksome’s endowment assets with diligence and foresight. Their stewardship ensures the school’s financial health today while empowering us to plan ambitiously for tomorrow—weathering change and investing boldly in the experiences, spaces and opportunities that allow every Branksome student to thrive. The Branksome Hall Foundation carefully manages its endowment holdings to preserve the principal while supporting the school’s programs. In 2024–25, a 5 per cent disbursement was provided. Additional earnings above the disbursement are reinvested to ensure the endowment continues to grow and provide long-term impact.

KEEPERS SOCIETY INSPO: The Keepers Society is inspired by our Branksome Hall’s motto and can be traced to an inscription over the door of Branxholme Castle in Scotland, adopted by the school in 1932. As we share the names of our inaugural members of this society, we are reminded that “Keep Well the Road” is a timeless call: live with purpose, act with integrity and leave a mark that lasts.

Branksome alums are builders, innovators, and changemakers—and their impact is everywhere. Because of the powerful role they play in shaping Branksome’s future and our students’ lives, we’re proud to launch the Keepers Society—a new recognition for alums who give yearly at the $500-$999 level. Alums touch every corner of our students’ lives—enhancing curriculum, enriching co-curriculars, opening doors through financial assistance and making gamechanging spaces like iCAST possible. Like the innovators they champion, these inaugural members equip today’s girls with the tools and confidence to thrive in under-represented industries. Their leadership strengthens our alum community, inspires others to step forward and keeps Branksome a place where bold ideas and boundless possibilities flourish.
