How High Can We Take a Mythical
Stories and narratives have long played a huge role in the streets of Ponce De Leon. They’ve categorized ideas and shaped how our surroundings has inspired due to the writings in the air. Though, how much can this story keep going? The Mix-Use high rise building became the inspiration to the embodiment, having a phsyical building acting as an agent towards the sight.
Due to the high rise building creativity of the mythical story of Ponce De Leon, the innovation to integrate the life of Atlanta came into play to rewrite the stories thats already hidden. Because of Atlanta high popularity of sports in the city, a relaxation concept came for office users and retail occupants by having sports play room spaces for healthy tranquility. Showcasing how high a tale can be!

Due to the SCAD Fashion and Film Museum giving title to the area, a inspiration rose from artists who tried to integrate anamorphic shapes within their fashion ideas by using cultural backgrounds around the world. An imagination thus gave way for art to make a statement that either involved social, cultural, or political issues. For this, abstract study models were created to study how shapes and lines can create spaces, thus furthering a concept of the form in Fashion Design.
The whole creativity for the program was to put 3 factors in order for people to be exposed with the inspiration of SCAD; Comfortability, experiences, and relations. 3 factors that resonated with the programmatic requirments. By creating an open gallery, small food court, auditorium, and plaza for the interaction of individuals in order to socialize and share one anothers perspective. Which in turn was transferred to classrooms that act as studios for any type of artisitic learning, wheather it be fashion, architecture or etc. Thus, designing an idenfite space for exchanges towards one another

Transforming this sluggish site into a bright spirited area was taken through a theme for its redevelopment; Health and Wellness, which came with the focus of one main goal, Pedestrian Safety. Through this we were able to communicate to our site on a whole new level that allowed us to develop a place of public engagment and liveliness. Turning the elements that were an obstacle into spaces used for our theme.
Health and Wellness transformed the area into a location of high walkability that accomadated both pedestrian safety and vehicular activity. Creation of green spaces such as parks, sport courts, and plazas came to flourish which allowed for pedestrians to socialize and interact with one another which through research helped improve mental health. Considering both physical and emotional well-being throughout our design. Thus, the creation of the Brookhaven Excertion emerged.

Made as a structure that would educate people about our environmental crisis, the Eye Whirl is a give-back to the world. Its purpose is to show people the worst of our world about pollution and show images of our planet’s future if we don’t stop. These images are powered by screens of different lengths with circular pads of solar power. A structure designed to fit its purpose of what it wants.
