ATTACKS INTERCEPTED: The U.S. military says that it intercepted Iranian attacks on three U.S. Navy ships as they transited the Strait of Hormuz and “targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for attacking U.S. forces.” U.S. Central Command said U.S. forces intercepted “unprovoked Iranian attacks” and responded with self-defense strikes. The city of Palo Alto yesterday announced a deal with a developer who was forcing through three towers reaching 17 stories on top of Mollie Stone’s Market on California Avenue. Chris Freise of Redco Development has agreed to shrink his project by three stories, or 33 feet in height. Palo Alto City Council will consider approving an agreement with Freise on May 18. The agreement would let Freise skip environmental review, expedite his application and save $1.7 million in fees.
