Area: 1099.18 acres Park Rapids Deepest Point: 72 feet Shore Length: 10.06 miles Defining Characteristics: Pleasant Lake is one of several lakes connected by the Boy River, which originates in Ten Mile Lake and 87 flows through Pleasant Lake and then continues north to Leach Lake. Water Quality: A hardwater, mesotrophic, or 71 moderately nutrient enriched lake, with relatively high water clarity. Number of aquatic plant species: more than 37 Menahga different native aquatic plant species. Fish to Catch: black bullhead, black crappie, bluegill, brown bullhead, hybrid sunfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, pumpkinseed, rock bass, smallmouth bass, tullibee (cisco), walleye, yellow bullhead, yellow perch, bowfin (dogfish), greater redhorse, shorthead redhorse, white sucker, blackchin shiner, blacknose shiner, bluntnose minnow, brook stickleback, central mudminnow, common shiner, emerald shiner, golden 71 shiner, Iowa darter, Johnny darter, logperch, mimic shiner, river shiner, spotfin shiner, spottail shiner, tadpole madtom Historic Fact: There were several hotels, general stores, and even a hospital on Pleasant Lake. The Hidenwood Hospital, built by Dr. A.J. Button, was destroyed by fire in 1925.
