Why Boycott SCREAM 7?
Great question, thanks for asking! Believe it or not, we are huge fans of the Scream franchise. But in November 2023, Melissa Barrera (the actress who played Sam Carpenter in Scream 5 & 6) shared a portion of an essay on her social media, written by an Israeli historian who accused the Israeli government of genocide. SpyGlass, the producers of our beloved franchise, immediately FIRED Barrera, falsely accusing her of 'antisemitism...hate speech,' and 'incitement to hate.' Because we believe in free speech, we won't give our money to producers who bully and censor their talent, especially when they are standing on the right side of history. We are anti-genocide, anti-racist, and we are against blacklisting. We never thought we'd say this, but, the call's coming from inside the house.

But Really... WHY BOYCOTT?
As we have watched Gaza turn into a hellscape with tragic statistics (read on, we will share them here) a practice has emerged called BDS. This stands for boycott, divest & sanction. It is a Palestinian-led movement for freedom, justice and equality. BDS upholds the simple principle that Palestinians are entitled to the same rights as the rest of humanity. In 2004, the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) a collective of Palestinian academics, artists, cultural workers, issued a call for a cultural boycott of Israel. The call urges international artists, cultural workers and organizations to boycott and work towards the cancellation of activities that involve Israel, its lobby groups and complicit institutions that whitewash Israel's human rights violations.
YES! Cultural boycotts were an important part of the antiapartheid movement in South Africa and Namibia. In fact, the movement to boycott South Africa started in 1960, but apartheid did not end until 1990. No single boycott will end Israeli apartheid; all of our actions must happen in tandem until the dam breaks, and you can be a part of this significant work by boycotting Scream 7. Gaza Statistics
• Gaza's population is just over 2 million people. As of July 15, 2025:
DEAD: 58,479 INJURED: 139,355 (While these numbers are already heartbreaking, they are estimated to be greatly higher than this, once people are accounted for under the rubble.)
• There is an acronym, 'WCNSF,' volunteering doctors who visit Gaza use. This stands for 'wounded child, no surviving family.' Yes, it's so common of an occurrence, they had to create an acronym for it!
• 10 children per day lose one or both of their limbs, due to Israel's attacks. In fact, "Gaza now has the highest number of child amputees per capita anywhere in the world." - U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres
• As of July 9th, Israel has taken control of nearly 86% of Gaza. That's roughly 121 miles of the 141 square miles large territory.
• For over a year now, droves of doctors who have returned from volunteer missions to Gaza, have testified that they operated on countless children who had been sniped in the head by Israeli soldiers.
• 'Genocide' as defined by The U.N. is 'an intent to destroy a group of people that makes it impossible for the group to reconstitute itself.' Genocide scholar Omer Bartov declared, "I'm a genocide scholar. I know it when I see it...This is precisely what Israel is trying to do."
• The World Health Organization (WHO,) estimates that 1 in 3 people are now going days without food, due to Israel blocking any food or aide to enter the Gaza strip since March of 2025.
