Another year of Generosity & Community Care at the Food Bank MARGARET GRAY Contributor

SANTA’S ELVES Light Up Bowen is all about its volunteers, who have been out and about brightening up the Cove in holiday cheer the past two weeks. Some of the eager elves doing the decorating include (L-R) Rick Burrows, Margaret Gray, Chelsea Strang (also an event organizer) & Bailey Hathaway. Decorations will continue next week ahead of the Light Up Bowen Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, December 6. The fun starts at 5:30 pm, more details in the Calendar! / Murray Atherton photo

As we enter the winter season, a time when Bowen’s generosity is always especially visible, we want to share an update on the past year at the Bowen Island Food Bank: what we’ve accomplished together, and how you can continue supporting your neighbours in ways that truly help. For anyone who may not know, the Bowen Island Food Bank is open 24/7, fully anonymous, and available to any Bowen resident or family who needs it. It’s located in the entrance to the United Church at 1122 Miller Road. Whether someone needs help once or on an ongoing basis, the food bank is here, quietly, respectfully, and without judgment. It exists because of the people who call this island home. This year showed, with remarkable clarity, how deeply Bowen Islanders care for one another. We are entirely volunteer-run and community-funded, and every win is a direct result of your support. CONTINUED ON PAGE 6
