CARRYING THE FLAME The Winter Olympics are underway! The Milano-Cortina Games began in Italy on Friday with the opening ceremonies and followed with a dive right into the international sporting action. Helping to get things underway was Peter Boronkay, the Bowen resident travelling to Italy last month to take part as a torchbearer in the ceremonial Olympic torch relay. After playing his role in the torch’s cross-country journey, the Olympic flame continued on to Milan for the opening ceremony.
