isting all the benefits to being in Boulder County at the holiday season would be impossible — cheer spills from local shops and restaurants and pervades holiday-themed events and activities. Our community is filled with unique opportunities for warming up to the winter, and the options for sharing the spirit through gifts and experiences are plentiful. This week we’re presenting the first of two Gift Guides and the opener to a series of stories on gift ideas, shopping locally and celebrating the holiday season. This gift guide
serves as a resource for some of our local retailers and seasonal selections for dining and events in an effort to bolster your holiday season toward becoming one of your very best. Let these ideas start the sparks of a season of lights. Watch in our upcoming weekly issues for gift ideas for everyone from your favorite foodie to the young at heart. And on Dec. 8, you’ll see our Gift Guide II, a resource for creative gift ideas. Thank you, from everyone at Boulder Weekly, for your ongoing support, and best wishes for a wonderful holiday season. he Colorado Shakespeare Festival brings the comfort of the holiday season to the Front Range this year with the classic tale of the man who helps an angel get his wings. Current audiences may relate to the narrative of the down-on-his-luck man who, despite economic hardship and the financial misgivings of others, realizes the importance of his life to those around him. Nearly everyone gets that nostalgic feeling when they reminisce about the story of It’s a Wonderful Life and there is no better time than this holiday season to introduce this tale to the next generation of George Baileys.

T
able Mesa Hardware is a family owned and operated independent business. The business has weathered location and name changes, established in 1972 as RAD Hardware and later changing to Liberty Hardware. In January 2009 lifelong Boulder resident Jay French and his wife Mea purchased the business and changed the name to Table Mesa Hardware. Jay and the staff at Table Mesa Hardware have been hard at work cleaning, organizing and re-stocking inventory. One of their priorities has been rebuilding our relationship with the community and listening to what they want from their local hardware store. Some changes you may notice when visiting us are: a full paint department, well-stocked seasonal items, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and at least one dog on staff to greet you. We have also expanded our lawn and garden department and have a horticulturist on staff year-round. Make us your choice this season for fresh-cut Christmas trees, garland, wreaths, lights, poinsettias and all of your decorating needs. Find us online for product information and specials from our current circular and give us a call if you have any questions!
