2022-23 PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION Registration packets for 2022/2023 Belvidere Park District Preschool are available at Rivers Edge Rec Center. To register, return the completed registration packet along with copy of a birth certificate & one month’s payment of preschool, which secures your child’s place & will be applied as your child’s May 2023 payment. Monthly EFT payments will be withdrawn on the 1st of every month beginning Sept. 1, 2022. Pay for the full year at time of registration & receive a 5% discount. Benefits to attending preschool • Activities to develop fine motor strength, identify shapes of letters & begin learning how to write them • Exposure to letter sounds to develop pre-reading skills • Exposure & opportunity to gain knowledge in math & science concepts • Exciting experiences to gain cognitive & motor skills • Social & Emotional growth of being away from their family, as well as trusting & taking direction from teacher • Learning how to work with & interact with others including taking turns, problem solving & sharing PRESCHOOL (Ages 3-4) Introductory preschool will be exploring colors, numbers, & letters through manipulative materials, arts & crafts, songs, & games. Focus on developing social skills such as sharing, following directions & consideration of other’s feelings. Basic kindergarten readiness skills will also be taught including listening, scissors & writing skills, & the alphabet & number recognition. PRE-K (Ages 4-5) Building on the basic skills in preparation for kindergarten. Letter & number formation & recognition, writing skills, & building confidence will be the focus. CLUB HORIZON 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR Safe, engaging & leisure are the hallmarks of Club Horizon. This after school program provides your child with fun & reliable care. Club kids will participate in games, crafts, snacks & have opportunities to be active after a long day at school. The program is based on District #100 school calendar/schedule & will NOT BE HELD when the District is not in session. Current COVID-19 cleaning & safety protocol will be practiced. Min/Max: 5/20. NEW HORIZONS New Horizons Adult Day Program is designed to help participants become more independent in daily leisure life skills. Participants can be newly out of high school or older, and activities include weekly community outings, basic cooking skills, nutrition, exercise, laundry development, and other leisure life skills activities. New Horizons is staffed at a 1:6 staff to participant ratio & has specific eligibility requirements in order to participate. There are current openings in the New Horizons Program.
