It has been a combination of several factors which have made Belvidere a safer place to live today: directed prosecution against gang and narcotic offenders, proactive policing concentrating on narcotics and gangs, and finally getting local neighborhoods involved. Through all of this Michelle Courier has been a strong partner. In my discussions with law enforcement leaders outside of Boone County, they routinely comment on the reputation of the Boone County State’s Attorney and her office and how they wished for such a partnership.
