The Belvidere Family YMCA would like to recognize Seth Kids, a group of third, fourth and fifth grade students from Seth Whitman Elementary, who exemplify leadership in the community, even at such a young age! Lead by Seth Whitman staff Gabriela Nunez-Reagan, Erin Morey and Melynda Munger, the students have done such things as bell ringing for Salvation Army, provide Christmas trees (with handmade ornaments) and presents to families in need, scooped ice cream at the Chamber Family Movie Nights and run a candy drive for soldiers overseas. Annually, they host a school dance and raise money or supplies for a worthy cause, last year they featured the cancer hospital in Madison and brought in art supplies for the children who are staying there. Seth Kids are the Y’s premier volunteers at family carnivals, Hometown Christmas and other events. Without the energy and hard work this group brings, the Y would not be able carry out such events.
