HESKETH HOUSE NEWSLETTER 20 JANUARY 2023

A note from the Head…

UK Bebras Challenge

The term is now well underway and things are settling down nicely at Hesketh House. Year 6 girls have survived their Senior School Entrance Examination and the subsequent interviews, with some even admitting to enjoying the experience!

Last term all of the girls took part in the UK Bebras Computing Challenge. This introduces computational thinking and is organised in over 50 countries. It is designed to get students all over the world excited about computing. Each participant answer questions that focus on computational and logical thinking.

We are looking forward to a particular busy few weeks ahead, with a wide variety of sporting events and several visitors coming in to school to pass on their knowledge and expertise. Please do keep your eye on our diary, included in every Newsletter. Please could I remind you that general queries should be directed to the Hesketh House office juniorgirls@boltonschool.org.uk or 01204 434761.

All of the girls who took part will receive a certificate, but there are special awards for ‘Best in School’ in each age category. Particular congratulations to our top scorers who were: Year 3 Ava McManus Year 4/5 Sophie Andrews / Erin Chalk Year 6 Zara Gilani

Finally, some of our families will be celebrating Chinese New Year this weekend and we hope that you enjoy your festivities. Happy New Year!
