Bolton School Primary Division Junior Boys’ School Wednesday 5th June

Summer Term, 2024 - WEEK B

From Mrs. Faulkner I do hope that you have all had a most enjoyable half term break and it has been lovely to see the boys back in school, clearly refreshed following a change of pace. As we return, this half term is a very short one, with only five weeks in total to squeeze everything in. As such, it is more important than ever to keep track of what is going on via the diary reminders in the newsletter and also on Parent Portal.

Wednesday 5th June U11 Water Polo Tournament, St. Ambrose, 12 midday (return 4.30pm) Swim Development, 4-5pm Cubs 6.30-7.45 pm

This Friday, 7th June, we will be having all of our group and team photos taken. Due to the extensive nature of the opportunities on offer at Park Road, this will involve a large number of boys throughout the day. In order to ensure the day runs smoothly, we ask that all boys bring in their sports kit on Friday 7th June. In Years 5 and 6, most boys will have represented the school at some point this year, as well as a large number of our Year 3 and 4s, so having sports kit will ensure nobody misses out. Boys who have performed in musical ensembles should bring in their instruments (percussion ensemble to bring in their drumsticks). The Year 6 Cricket team should bring their cricket whites. Photos will be available to purchase and your son will bring a contact sheet home with all of the details on how to do this. Before the half term, the boys all completed their end of year exams. Please be aware that the English and Maths papers are sent away to be marked externally and those results will be shared

directly with parents alongside the end of year reports.

For boys in Years 5 and 6, they will have the opportunity to look through their History and Geography papers with their teachers over the coming weeks and they may share their final score with you, this will also be formally reported alongside the English and Maths results. Amongst the many things to look forward to this term, we do have the very first Foundation Summer Festival, details of which can be found on page 3 of this newsletter. I am hearing reports that the tickets are selling very well for this and am sure it will be a fantastic afternoon for all. Also coming up, on the final day of term (Friday 5th July), we will be having our usual Sports Day in the afternoon—further details of that will be shared in the coming weeks, but parents are welcome to come along and cheer the boys around the track.
