Bolton School Primary Division Junior Boys’ School Wednesday 28th September

Autumn Term, 2022 — WEEK B

From Mr. King Celebration Assembly

COMPULSORY SCHOOL EVENTS THIS TERM Y6 CONCERT, WEDNESDAY 16th NOVEMBER

At the end of last week, we held our first celebration assembly of the year and it was a pleasure to celebrate our boys’ achievements, both in and out of school. Before I came to the school, what appeared to be one of its strengths was its encouragement of all of our students’ endeavours and this was very apparent in our assembly. We had a range of commendations, from reading over the summer, to being able to do a side kick. Some of our boys have already been celebrated in our weekly newsletter but they had an opportunity to share their accomplishments within our school community. The boys were all very respectful and appreciated each others’ achievements. We ended our assembly by announcing the Year 6 monitors for the first part of the year. This is a really important role and an honour to be selected by the teachers. The boys will play a significant role in upholding the standards of the school, helping teachers and supporting their peers. There will be further opportunities in the year for other Year 6 boys to take on the Monitor positions. School Photo

CAROL SERVICE WEDNESDAY 7th DECEMBER Wednesday 28th September AJIS Cross Country, Rossall School, return approx. 4.30.pm Cubs, 6.30—7.45pm Thursday 29th September Bolton XC Fixture, Moss Bank Park, parents collect from venue at 5pm

On Tuesday, we had our first Primary Division photograph for 11 years. The photograph involved students and staff from Beech House, Hesketh House and, of course, Park Road. It was an excellent opportunity for the boys to see how they fit into a bigger picture of the school, whilst also being able to say hello to former teachers, peers, brothers and sisters. As you can imagine, getting this large group together was no easy task. Our boys were first out on the field and they remained positive and chirpy throughout the experience…let’s hope that positivity comes through in the final photo! Open Morning- Year 5 Tour Guides This is a final plea from me to ask Year 5 parents who have not yet responded to our Open Day Google Form to do so as soon as possible. During Open Day, we need a large representation of Year 5 boys to tour parents around our school and support some of the activities in school. It is an excellent opportunity for the boys to show pride in their school and communicate with confidence about their learning.
