Spring Term, 2024 — WEEK A

From Mrs. Faulkner I am very much looking forward to this evening’s Spring Concert, I have had the pleasure of hearing some snippets of the rehearsals so far and I believe we are in for a real treat.

Next week, we see the first of our Patterdale visits, with the Year 6 boys heading off for their full week of fun and adventure. Thank you very much indeed to all parents who have been so helpful in ensuring that medical information and other details have been provided so promptly, this really does help us in the preparation for such trips. Whilst your son is away at Patterdale, we will aim to keep you updated about the boys’ trip via our Twitter feed. Please do however be aware, that there can be some delay in sharing photographs, as the boys and staff are usually so busy, out and about, having a fantastic time. We would always advise taking a ’no news is good news’ approach. If that wasn’t enough excitement, this weekend, the Cubs are heading to the beach for their annual Cub Camp, I am really looking forward to joining them for the day on Saturday and have my bucket and spade packed already. Anyone not attending this activity may be interested in https://brickfestivalevents.com/event/bolton-brick-festival/. Before Easter, I wrote about the planned development in the Park Road Science Room, the intention being to refurbish the room, open up the space a little more and create a dedicated cooking area at one end, in order to allow the boys to more fully develop that skill, both during lessons and extra-curricular activities. I am delighted to report that work was completed over the course of the Easter break and I think it is fair to say that the boys have been most impressed with the results. Thank you very much indeed to the Parents’ Association for supporting this project, we have been talking about it for a number of years now so I have been really pleased to see it come to fruition.
