This week, teachers have been meeting online with parents to discuss the contents of the recently released reports and to see how boys have settled into the new academic year. We hope that these meetings have been useful, answering any questions you may have had, while also providing more information and context to our teachers. However, we recognise that sometimes more in-depth conversations are required. We would like to remind parents that our teachers are available throughout the year to meet parents to discuss any issues or concerns which arise. Keeping an open and positive home/school dialogue is an important aspect in ensuring the overall progression of our boys. Over the course of the year, there will be further opportunities for parents to engage with both teachers and the subject specialists. We are delighted to announce that, as an end of term festive celebration, we will be taking the whole school to watch “Jack and the Beanstalk” at the Albert Halls in Bolton on Wednesday, December 14th. We plan to leave after lunch to be back in time for the end of the day. The trip has been funded by the generosity of our school’s Parent Association. We are sure that this will be a fun and rewarding experience for our boys and staff at the end of a very busy term. We would like to thank all of our parents, particularly the PA volunteers for their ongoing support. This week sees the launch of our whole Foundation annual Hamper Challenge for Urban Outreach, the 10th year that we have supported the local charity that aims to deliver a hamper containing everything needed for a full Christmas dinner, dessert, sweet treats, toys and seasonal fun for the many families in need in the Bolton Area. We have been tasked with collecting 2,500 chocolate selection boxes by Thursday 8th December. We would like to encourage every student across the Foundation, from Nursery to Sixth Form, to bring in at least one chocolate selection box as a gift from each pupil at Bolton School to a child in the area. Please do what you can to support and thank you again to those who have already kindly donated.
