Bolton School Primary Division Junior Boys’ School Wednesday 20th September

Autumn Term, 2023 — WEEK A From Mrs. Faulkner

The boys have certainly got into the swing of their new routines now and are busy enjoying the many opportunities available. Lunchtime and after-school activities are well attended and the boys have spoken enthusiastically about all that they are doing.

COMPULSORY SCHOOL EVENT THIS TERM: Carol Service, Tuesday 19th December, 7pm

This week, all of the boys attended a special assembly in the Boys’ Division Great Hall, alongside the Junior Girls and Year 2 children from Beech House. During that assembly, we learnt much more about the importance of the fundraising we have recently undertaken to support the building of a school in Malawi and the impact that has had upon the many children we have already helped. This project will be a major focus for fundraising across the Foundation this year and I look forward to sharing those plans with you as they progress.

Wednesday 20th September Cubs, 6.30pm

Boys in Year 6 would usually take that opportunity to visit Senior School and parents should have received more specific details about that from the Boys’ Division registrar, Miss Fenton.

Thursday 21st September Mr Britton’s Coffee Morning, 8.15am Jujitsu—4-5pm LAMDA—4-5pm Sailing Club, 4.45— 5.45pm (collection from Anderton Centre at 6pm) Cubs, 6.30pm Friday 22nd September After School Hockey, 4-5pm, collection from Leverhulme Pavilion Group 2 Water Polo Trials — 4-5pm

Whilst we are still settling into the current term, our minds in school also begin to turn to the year ahead and we are looking forward to our annual Open Morning on Saturday 7th October.

We do usually ask that all Year 5 boys are available to help at Park Road which may include acting as a tour guide, supporting a particular sporting, academic or musical activity. Letters will be sent out for that early next week, I thank you very much in advance for supporting us with that process. I should like to remind you are invited to attend Mr Britton’s coffee and conversation morning from 8:30 to 11am tomorrow (Thursday 21st September) in the Leverhulme Suite at the Riley Centre. If you would like to attend, please could I ask that you do not leave your car on the Beech House car park as it is required in the morning. Please park off site and enter via the main Senior School reception. I look forward to seeing many of you there. Finally, it certainly seems this week as though Autumn has arrived, along with the very changeable weather it often brings. Please can I ask that your son brings a coat into school each day, as we do aim to get the boys out as much as possible at break times.
