From Mrs. Faulkner I hope that you have all had a restful and enjoyable break with family. Around all that excitement, there are also the usual end of year exams. Please note that the dates for those this year are:

Years 4 and 5 week commencing 13th May Years 3 and 6 week commencing 20th May. At the end of last term, we said goodbye to Mrs Winstanley. She has asked me to pass on her thanks to you all for the many kind messages and the extremely generous and much appreciated Apple store voucher she received. As I wrote last term, Mrs Lisa Hunt has joined us this term to pick up the reins of Mrs Winstanley’s teaching. She will also be taking some of Miss Fletcher’s classes and is enjoying working with the boys, having started to get to know them before the break. Before the Easter break, I was delighted to share the report from our recent ISI inspection. The inspectors were highly complimentary of all aspects of life in Park Road and the Boys’ Division, commenting on the high expectations and culture of mutual support, inclusivity and tolerance within the School. The inspectors were impressed with the good academic progress made by the boys and the excellent behaviour and attitude to learning shown by all pupils I was especially pleased that they recognised a ‘significant strength’ in our work to develop the students’ character through our extra-curricular provision and commitment to outdoor learning. If you haven’t had a chance to read the report, it can be viewed here. Next week, we will mark Earth Day on Monday 22nd April. As part of our continued efforts on waste disposal and sustainability, we will be collecting standard nonrechargeable batteries for recycling all next week as part of the Duracell Big Battery Hunt. Please do send those old batteries you’ve been collecting for recycling in with your son next week and we will do it for you.
