DELIVERY • Delivery will be made at sellers earliest convenience working to get bulls to your yard within MB, to central points within Canada and to the nearest USA border crossing. • Bulls can be wintered free to charge until April 1. After April 1, there will be a charge of $3/day. Bulls returned to the farm can be picked up at the buyer’s convenience. • Bulls that are wintered by the consignors must be insured by the purchaser. • Bring your trailer and take your purchases home sale day and take $75 off your total purchase. AMERICAN PURCHASES Our sales are conducted in Canadian funds. The US exchange rate will be available at the settlement desk. Upon successful purchase of an animal, the consignors will assist with the necessary documentation, health exams, brokerage and US custom charges necessary to export your animal to the US. An additional fee of $300 USD per animal will be charged for this service, and is due at time of settlement. Trucking is not included in this amount. Welcome to the OPT bull sale once again. Exciting times for our OPT group. This will be the 8th sale PLCC has been a part of and the 5th at Oakview’s home base. We all get along pretty darn good as long as Rick gets his coffee and muffin first thing in the morning. So good in fact that we have decided to start the OPT…Bred for Success female event to be held at Oakview December 2024, stay tuned for details. At PLCC this year we invite you to stop in and look at the bulls anytime. In the past we have held an open house however with hockey and basketball taking many days we will be lucky to make the bull sale ourselves. These days are counting down and trying to partake in as much as possible. Our consignments consist of bulls from our walking bull battery as well as select AI sires. IPU Bentley 81F need no introduction, his progeny have been show and sale toppers for a few years now. He has many outstanding attributes that we are excited to add to our herd for generations to follow. MAF Blundstone a big strong red baldy bull. Blue, he is a single red Blueprint son that we added to give us a kick of Fleck in the herd. Lethal Dose, our big time performance bull and sire of PERKS Potent. You will see the heavily muscled sons he produces. Deeg Shear Fire, our heifer bull we share with Triple R. He calves great, just what we expected for him. He is a WFL Red Heat some out of a 56U x Sage cow. LFE Loyalty, we jumped at the chance to get a semen package when he sold in 2022. They are big middle moderate cattle that are easy on the eyes. At PLCC we stand behind our bulls 100% and we will strive to meet our customer’s needs any way we can. We encourage you to stop by the farm before the sale. HOMO POLLED When LFE Loyalty sold in 2022, he was a bull that was on my radar. A dark red blaze faced bull that looked to have expansive rib shape and big butted, as well as an impressive cow as a mother. I was quick to jump at a semen package, the results have been rewarding. The Loyalty calves are just as I thought they might be, huge middle and well muscled. The heifers are favorites in the heifer pen and the bulls are not hard to pick out, they are very similar as a group. 81L has been a favorite Loyalty son all year. His has a deep red hair coat and that big rump will make him a sale day favorite. His mother is a Blockbuster daughter, deep bodied and dark red just like her son. We have a daughter producing in the herd. She has a very nice udder and we look forward to her future production, a cow family that is sure to build.

Perkin Consignor Land & Cattle Name HOMO POLLED The Lethal Dose sons continue to impress. This calf caught everyone’s eye on pasture this summer. He is outrageously long spined and moves like a cat. A heavy haired rascal that has carried on with his mothers blazed face. I think the Simmental industry could use a great bull like this, an outcross to most pedigrees used in the breed today, he is one to make note of. At PLCC we will be using him in our own AI program next year. We think a lot of his mother; she is so easy keeping and has a very good milky udder. Liam showed a full sister to this bull in 4H last year and was crowned champion at the Virden interclub show in July. This bull has a great future ahead of him.

HOMO POLLED A bull that has quickly become the ‘big boy’ of the pen. 475L is a full bodied muscle machine, a bull with presence and poise in the pen. Look down his pedigree, his grand dam is another Hot Iron cow; they can just crank out the good ones. The “75” cow family is quickly becoming very popular around here for correctness, udder quality and production. Lethal Dose combined with this young cow is a knock out. Don’t miss a chance at a performance bull. You have to look long and hard to find a bull with this much performance (ww top 15% and yw top 10%) with a high milk (top 15%) and MCE (top 10%) epd. He ranked 2nd at weaning and 1st at yearling in his contemporary group. This guy is a herd builder.

His mother is a picture perfect young cow, Captain Blaze has bred very well for us and combining him with the Doll cow family is a home run. A calving ease son sold last year to Big Hills Simmentals and a daughter is the dam of lot 26 in this sale. A balanced set of epds, Blue adds that bit of Fleck into the pedigree with some calving ease and maternal strengths. Lester could be a good choice sale day.

This calf crop is the first natural service to Bentley. We purchased him as a 4 year old after using him in our AI program for a couple of years. No other bull we have used has the explosive weaning growth that these Bentley calves do, look at his epds, top 3% for ww and top 10% for yw. 168L is stout, good haired, and has that big soft middle that we expect from Bentley. I could go on for days about the “68” family; level uddered, nice teet size, big bodied, fertile and produce the top end year after year. She has produced top bull for; Brett Heinricks, Janice Millar and Allan Cloet. This bull has the potential to go into a herd and make a real impact for a breeder or commercial herd. No matter if you are in the bull business or making replacement females this guy could be Bentley 2.0.

His mother is an outstanding Capt’n Blaze cow that gives us that knock out combination with Bentley. He patterns much like the other Bentley bulls and has electric hair that just pops. This bull is sure to turn some heads sale day.

He moves very well on a good solid foot. The many attributes that Bentley has, his feet are one that sometimes I fail to mention, faulty free and trouble free. At 6 Years old they are as big and round and perfect as you can ask for. This bull is another Blaze Bentley combination, a breeding match that you will see at PLCC time and time again. As a side bonus the great granddam is none other than IPU Pocahontas 68M, what more could you ask for in a pedigree.

Her son last year sold to Curtis Zdan. 5221L is a loose made mellow bull. He has pride and presence in the pen. HOMO POLLED I was very excited about this prospect when he was born. A blaze faced loyalty son out of a calving ease Captain Blaze daughter. She raised our high seller last year that sold to Regan Schlacter, pretty impressive for a first calf heifer. I look at this bull, he is super smooth shouldered, clean in his lines and has a very tidy small head. An 87 lb BW, I really think this bull could be another calving ease candidate. Wicked good hair and bomb proof disposition. You can’t make them much more complete than this guy.

I love the way he’s developing into such a smooth made well balanced bull that from end-to-end blends well into a thick and soggy package. He’s got the most pigment of all of the full bloods on offer, with the exception of a bit of white on his face and on his belly he’s pretty much solid red right down to his big dark hooves. This 80 lb birth weight bull boasts a 10.5 calving ease EPD, in addition to having outstanding performance and milk EPD’s. The first Hank daughters are just calving now and we couldn’t be happier with the way they have turned out.
