This is exciting times to be in the cattle industry, with stockers at what is probably an all time high. As farmers or ranchers we always talk about the weather. This year the weather has been a challenge all across Canada, hot and dry and in areas records are being set for minimal rainfall. We are thankful to everyone that has attended the sale in person or through DLMS. To the bidders, thank you, it is all of you that has made this sale a success. Lilac is a special Hollywood daughter out of our Heidi family of brood cows. Same maternal family as her sale mate, 2M. Another heifer showing some traditional markings of the Fleckvieh cattle we became extra fond of after seeing so many at the Congress in Germany. But more than just colour, these heifers are also growing into and starting to display the volume and mass that impressed us so much. We selected Simmeron Mr. Royal as her service sire, again for the calving ease and polled factor.

Crocus and her twin have been an amazing pair of calves from day one and their dam did a totally awesome job of raising them. While not Full Fleckvieh, they certainly are characteristic of the Flecks and seemed to have pulled those genes to the forefront in their make-up. You have to admire the thickness and depth that she has. We decided not to breed them to the same service sire. Twin to 20L. Chelsey, like her twin sibling, has developed into a heifer that has to be admired for her depth and thickness. Those Fleckvieh genes deep in their pedigree have surfaced and will make her shine as a brood cow. It is not always that a set of twins will turn out like these two have. We chose to breed her to our new herd sire Century Lincoln (by Rugged R Cavill x Sibelle Sugar Ray 25F). Having his first calves on the ground now drew us in that direction as they come easily and there appears to be a strong polled factor.
Our only Ford daughter in the sale this year. She is a member of the Knights Shyann cow family that has been a founding influence of our Fleckvieh program. If she follows in the footsteps of our other Shyann progeny in the herd, she should not disappoint. Bred to Simmeron Mr. Royal

Shadow is a tremendously thick, deep solid red heifer out of a black cow. She is one of those heifers that needs to get her scratches whenever she can and usually must be pushed out of the way. This is our youngest heifer on offering. This heifer has a maternal sister that sold in last year’s sale working for our friends at Dwayann Simmentals (Arthur, ON) and also has another sister that is working for our friends at Lone Stone Farms (Westlock, AB). Our current heifer bull (DCAR 26L) is off a sister working in herd and this heifer’s mother, DCAR 8C, has another heifer calf at side. A little more moderate heifer sired off our OSF Montoya 7F bull. This is a young heifer I am very proud to have raised.
