Welcome to the Ontario Limousin Association 3rd Annual Eastern Showcase Sale. This sale is beginning to gain a reputation for bringing some of the very best Limousin genetics to the open market. The quality in this years sale is deep throughout the catalogue with bred heifers, heifer calves, and cows and embryo recipients that will surely have something for everyone. The support shown from breeders across North America last year was amazing and we are excited to bring forth another excellent group of females and genetic packages for you. We are constantly asked why are you selling this one? The only answer we can come up with is it’s Jaxons fault. We always try to dig deep and offer something special and the Gypsy cow is just that. We purchased her dam years ago from the western select and she like her daughter are always the first cows visitors ask about. With breed changing paternal sibs like Canadian Impact and Ally we truly believe she could follow in their footsteps. Dark red, big bodied, soft pasterned with a near perfect udder, what’s not to love? Her first daughter was a high seller to OPAL in last year’s sale, her second is in our bred heifer pen and her latest try sells here on choice. We really believe this choice lot is going to be tough to decide which to pick. 147L is so unique in her build, in our mind you can’t draw a limo much better than this one. Wide based, dense boned, a shot longer spined and ties in so high out of the top of her shoulder. To top it off you couldn’t colour her any darker red. Fittingly she’s sired by lot 1 from the first eastern showcase sale that’s working at Chris Ferraro’s. It’s no fluke we like this one so well by stacking her mother and our celebrity donor who is most notably known as Gamblers mom. Still producing at age 14, we decided to flush her to Flemington Legend and Lovestruck was the first embryo to hit the ground. Lovestory is the natural calf who is sired by TMF Redwood. Productivity and longevity will be a claim to fame for the new owner no matter which one is selected. These two heifers have been Bailey and Emily’s show heifers for 2023 making it tough to let them go so we are offering them on choice. We will gladly keep the heifer for the winter if she was to be shown by the new owner in the CJLA Impact Show, August 2024.
