3050L is a heifer who has gotten us very excited from a young age and is one that is certainly difficult for us to part with. No one can raise them quite like Rose herself and 3050L is a prime example of that statement, Rose truly knocked it out of the park on this natural calf. 3050L has all the bells and whistles, attractive made, super hairy but combines incredible rib shape and dimension with an extra shot of length of spine. We think she’s going to have the potential to have an incredible show career and become an even better production cow who has the ability to out produce herself year after year; just like her mother has consistently done. Her early show career has already proven to be a successful one, being slapped Champion Jackpot Heifer out of 60 high caliber heifer calves at the Blackgold Classic. Another one who is incredibly difficult to part with and once you see her mother and sister standing in our stall at CWA and Ag Ex you’ll clearly see why. Some of them we just know are special from a young age and after a great fall run winning classes and titles 1016J joined our donor program at a young age and really delivered. We registered 9 progeny this spring in 1016J’s rookie year and in mid January 1016J delivered her own calf who really has us excited. 1016J is truly a program building type cow and this incredible production at such a young age really solidifies our confidence in her. Of all progeny 3053L reminds us most of 1016J at this age and that is truly a bold statement. This is a percentage heifer calf that truly gets us excited and rises to the top of our heifer pen. She fittingly deserves to sell at the 2nd Associate Invitational. She is a calf we really admire for the extra depth and volume of rib she carries, her tremendous muscle expression, in a moderate and really complete package. Her registered purebred Angus mother was our selection in the Section 7 Ranch private herd dispersal when they opened their doors to us to select some of their very best. S7R Erica 8C is a hard working, good looking cow who at the age of 8 still has her best days ahead of her, we really admire her udder quality added frame score, extension and volume while still standing on a large well constructed foot. We’ve tried to inject some of 8C’s genetics in our commercial herd by retaining a handful of sons, 3004L is a prime example of why. 3004L is everything we hoped for when combining the likes of the Erica 8C cow family and the Rose cow family. HFL Rip 1014J was a $20,000 high seller in our 2022 bull sale, and we’ve used his genetics extensively in our commercial herd and in our purebred herd. Calves are moderate, explosively muscled and overall very complete. The breeding options are endless combining 2 of our best cow families from the Angus and Simmental breed, bringing an exciting and fresh injection of genetics into the Simmental breed. What an absolute unique female to bring to this year’s edition of the Associate Invitational! GFD Divine 20L. A name that fits her with great purpose. Divine is a big hipped, deep ribbed, balanced, power female with an excellent skull shape. She’s been the one who’s put it all together from structural correctness to overall eye appeal. Her genetic profile is loaded on the top and bottom side of the pedigree. Divine is the first daughter from our newest herd bull, Sunny Valley Duke 37J to sell. His calves have been truly impressive with the added performance, style, and frame! Maternally, it’s as good as it gets. Her dam, MAF Fancy 223E has been one of the foundation females in our program. Our offering this year comes right from the top of our heifer pen with two full ET sibs off our “Moon” donor cow MRL Miss 6778D. Moon has been the picture of consistency over the years with her calves always being at the top of the replacement pen. Her last two flushes produced 24 and 34 grade A eggs! Mating Moon with Red Deputy has really hit it out of the park and these two heifers are a great example of it. 2317L has been a standout since birth, the last of the flushmates born but always the most powerful and has the most presence. Dark red and homo polled, 2317L is ready to write her own story and get to work in her new owners donor pen! But if you are looking for a more refined and feminine heifer, then 2310L is for you. The dam of 87L was purchased from the Springcreek dispersal and was selected for her ideal structure, perfect udder, foot quality and outcross pedigree. We were impressed with the job she did on this heifer and look forward to having her become a building block of our red cow herd. 87L also represents one of the first progeny of the popular Walk The Line bull who has taken the breed by storm. 87L herself is in built in the mold of her dam. This year we held our show in Weyburn for the 2nd year in a row, from July 28th to 30th. We couldn’t have been happier about how our show went. We saw entries double from the previous year and people coming from across the province. We also welcomed some new members onto our executive board this year as well. Our 2023-2024 board consist of: President: Brodyn LaBatte, vice president: Bailey McCormack, treasurer: Darby McCormack, secretary: Shelby Woytiuk, and as well our directors at large: Olivia Woytiuk, Zayne LaBatte, Porter Wolkowski, Grady Wolkowski, and Addison Barnett. We also would like to thank Travis Fisk for serving as our adult advisor the last couple years, we really appreciate all the hard work that he has done to help us succeed with our show. Last year Millington Ranch stepped up with a donation of embryos to be auctioned with all the proceeds to be given to the SYCSA.
