Dvajset let ni veliko. In je vse. Če bi vprašali naravo, bi se verjetno le nasmehnila. Dvajset let je zanjo en sam dih, en sam krog cvetenja in mirovanja. Če pa vprašate nas, ljudi, ki tukaj živimo, ustvarjamo in včasih tudi prehitro spreminjamo svet, je dvajset let lahko cela doba.

Festival alpskega cvetja ni nastal kot velik načrt. Nastal je iz občutka. Iz spoštovanja. Iz tihega zavedanja, da imamo v rokah nekaj krhkega in izjemnega hkrati. In danes lahko mirno rečemo: postal je več kot dogodek.

Postal je počelo. Postal je temelj. V teh dvajsetih letih ni zaznamoval le pomladi in začetka poletja. Zaznamoval je način, kako razmišljamo o Bohinju. Kako se premikamo po njem. Kako pridelujemo, kako gostimo, kako povezujemo. Iz cvetja je zrasla zgodba – o trajnosti, o skupnosti, o pogumu, da stvari delamo drugače.

In morda še pomembneje: festival nas je naučil gledati. Ne le videti, ampak zares gledati. Travnik, ki ni le travnik. Rastlino, ki ni le ime v knjigi. Ravnovesje, ki ni samoumevno.

A ob tem ne želimo obstati. Želimo ostati. Tukaj in zdaj. Odgovorni do sebe in okolja.

In zvesti temu, kar nas dela Bohinj. Bohinj ni in ne bo muzej na prostem. Živ prostor je. Prostor ljudi, idej, iskanj. Prostor, kjer varovanje in razvoj ne stojita drug proti drugemu, temveč hodita z roko v roki. Tudi to je ena od lekcij, ki nam jih je festival prinesel.

Dvajset let kasneje zato ne praznujemo le prehojene poti. Praznujemo smer.

In če nas je cvetje česa naučilo, potem je to preprosto: najlepše stvari rastejo počasi. A le, če zanje skrbimo. Ostanimo v cvetju.

Twenty years is not much. Yet, it is everything.

If you were to ask nature, she would probably just smile. To her, twenty years is a single breath, a single cycle of blooming and rest. But if you ask us, the people who live here, create here, and sometimes change the world too quickly, twenty years can feel like an entire era. The Wild Flower Festival was not conceived as a grand plan. It emerged out of a feeling. Out of respect. Out of a quiet awareness that we hold in our hands something both fragile and extraordinary. And today we can safely say: it has become more than just an event.

It has become the beginning. The foundation.

Over the past twenty years, it has not only marked the spring and early summer. It has shaped the way we think about Bohinj. The way we move through it. The way we grow, the way we host, the way we connect.

From the flowers, a story has blossomed – a story of sustainability, of community, of the courage to do things differently.

An perhaps even more importantly: the festival has taught us how to observe. Not just seeing, but truly looking. A meadow that is more than just a meadow. A plant that is more than just a name in a book. A balance that cannot be taken for granted.

But we don’t want to stop there. We want to stay. Here and now. With the responsibility toward ourselves and the environment.

And true to what makes Bohinj who we are.

Bohinj is not and will never be an open-air museum. It is a living space. A space of people, ideas, and exploration. A space where preservation and development do not stand in opposition to one another, but go hand in hand. This, too, is one of the lessons the festival has taught us.

Twenty years later, we are not merely celebrating the path we have travelled. We are celebrating the direction.

And if flowers have taught us anything, it is this: the most beautiful things grow slowly. But only if we care for them.

Simply stay in bloom.

100 YEARS OF THE JULIANA ALPINE BOTANICAL GARDEN

Alpski botanični vrt Juliana / Alpine Botanical Garden Juliana, Trenta Alpski botanični vrt Juliana leta 2026 praznuje 100 let. Ustanovil ga je Albert Bois de Chesne v Trenti, danes pa deluje pod okriljem Prirodoslovnega muzeja Slovenije. V vrtu uspevajo značilne rastline slovenskega alpskega in kraškega sveta.

The Juliana Alpine Botanical Garden celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2026. It was founded by Albert Bois de Chesne in Trenta and is now operated under the auspices of the Slovenian Museum of Natural History. The garden is home to plants characteristic of the Slovenian Alpine and Karst regions.

Triglavska roža nas vodi v kraljestvo Zlatoroga. Najdete jo pri tržnicah, kulinariki in kulturnih dogodkih.

Triglav rose guides us to the kingdom of Zlatorog. It marks markets, cuisine and cultural events.

Otvoritveni večer bo potekal v duhu glasbe in poezije –raznolike in presenetljive. Nastopila bo zasedba Kranjci z gostujočimi glasbeniki, ki so del naše skupnosti. Spomnili se bomo začetkov in poti festivala. Predstavljen bo tudi program letošnjega jubilejnega dogajanja.

Vsaka zgodba se nekje začne. Tako kot v naravi tudi mi rastemo, se spreminjamo in trajamo – z upanjem na najboljše.

Tradicionalni dogodek razveseli otroke in družine na Zlatorogovi pravljični poti. Devet bohinjskih pravljičnih junakov že čaka, da na zabaven način preda zanimive zgodbe mladim glavicam.

This traditional event brings joy to children and families on the Zlatorog Fairy Trail. Nine Bohinj fairytale heroes are waiting to pass on interesting stories to young minds in a fun way.

The opening night will be filled with diverse and surprising music. The band Kranjci will perform alongside guest musicians who are part of our community.

We will look back on the festival’s beginnings and its journey. The programme of this year’s anniversary celebration will also be presented.

Every story begins somewhere. Just as in nature, we too grow, change, and endure: hoping for the best.

You are invited to join us in opening the anniversary of the International Wild Flower Festival.

ŠPORTNI VIKEND ZA AKTIVNE IN POLETNI B.O. FEJST WEEKEND FOR THE AC TIVE AND SUMME R B.O. FEJST FESTIVAL

Tretji festivalski vikend je na festivalu rezerviran za športne aktivnosti. Prvi dan bo namenjen predvsem otrokom in družinam. Otroci bodo tekli, skupaj s starši pa se lahko podajo na sprehod okoli jezera. Dan bo začinjen z bogatim animacijskim programom priljubljenega poletnega festivala B.O. FEjST.

Nedelja je rezervirana za tekače, ki premorejo pogum in drznost štirih bohinjskih srčnih mož, ki so se pred skoraj 250 leti prvič povzpeli na Triglav. Izbirate lahko med tekom na 5 ali 10 km ter 20-kilometrsko »trail« preizkušnjo.

Pripravite superge in se podajte aktivnim pustolovščinam v naravi naproti.

The third festival weekend is reserved for sports activities. The first day will be dedicated mainly to children and families. Children can run and can go for a walk around the lake with their parents. The day will be spiced up with a rich animation programme of the popular B.O. FEjST summer festival.

Sunday is reserved for runners who have the courage and daring of the four brave men from Bohinj who first climbed Triglav almost 250 years ago. You can choose between the 5 or 10 km run, or a 20 km "trail race".

Get your trainers ready and head out for active adventures in the great outdoors.

20 TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FESTIVAL AND THE NEW ECO GARDEN AT DR J ANEZ MENCINGER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN BOHIN J SKA BISTRICA

Na Osnovni šoli dr. Janeza Mencingerja Bohinjska Bistrica bodo učenci in učitelji tudi letos aktivno soustvarjali Mednarodni festival alpskega cvetja, ki praznuje 20 let.

Učenci bodo nastopili na otvoritvenem odru, prodajali sadike, kuhali z najboljšimi bohinjskimi kuharji, pripravljali razstave ter sodelovali na številnih delavnicah, nekatere učenke pa se bodo predstavile celo kot izvajalke. Obiskovalce vabimo, da se jim pridružijo na raznolikih delavnicah na različnih lokacijah.

Poseben poudarek letošnjega leta je tudi odprtje šolskega EKOVRTA. Šola namreč sodeluje v razvojnem projektu Zavoda za šolstvo: Šolski »eko« vrtovi v vzgojnoizobraževalnem okolju za doseganje podnebnih ciljev, s katerim spodbuja učenje v naravi ter vzgojo za trajnostni razvoj.

Vabljeni na otvoritev vrta, ki bo 4. junija 2026 ob 10. uri, ter na popoldanske delavnice na šoli. Več informacij bo na voljo na šolskem Facebook profilu v zadnjem tednu maja. Na ogled bo tudi razstava o našem vrtu.

U KONC’ SVETA SO PRAVLJICE DOMA ZLATOROG FAIRY TRAIL

To ni povsem običajen dogodek. Je nekaj posebnega. Dogaja se namreč ob približno dva kilometra dolgi poti, ki vas pelje ob reki, skozi gozd, čez travnike in mimo Bohinjskega jezera.

Osrednji dogodek bo letos v soboto, 23. 5. 2026. Na delavnicah, predstavitvah, športnih dejavnostih, med gorskimi reševalci, gasilci in drugimi prostovoljci, boste srečali pravljična bitja in uživali v naravi. Čas bo hitro minil na poti s postajami in možnostmi, da se otroci gibajo, se nekaj novega naučijo, ustvarjajo ali pa samo razvijajo svoja čutila. Hkrati pa v knjižnico lahko nalepijo nalepke pravljičnih junakov, ki jih prejmejo skupaj s knjižico.

Pridite – osvojite nova znanja in s seboj domov odnesite lepe spomine.

Once again this year, students and teachers at Dr Janez Mencinger Elementary School in Bohinjska Bistrica will actively participate in the International Wild Flower Festival, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Students will perform on the opening stage, sell seedlings, cook alongside Bohinj’s top chefs, organise exhibitions, and participate in numerous workshops; some students will even perform as artists. We invite visitors to join us for a variety of workshops at different locations.

A special highlight this year is the opening of the school’s ECO-GARDEN. The school is participating in a development project by the Institute for Education: School “eco” gardens in the educational environment to achieve climate goals, which promotes learning in nature and education for sustainable development.

You are invited to the garden opening on 4 June 2026, at 10 a.m., as well as to the afternoon workshops at the school. More information will be available on the school’s Facebook page during the last week of May. There will also be an exhibition about the our garden.

This is not a usual event. It's something special. The event takes place along a two-kilometre long trail that takes you by the river, through the forest, across the meadows and along Lake Bohinj.

The main event will take place on Saturday, 23 May. You will meet fairytale characters and spend all day in nature at workshops, presentations, sport activities, with mountain rescuers, firemen and other volunteers.

The trail offers stations and opportunities for children to move, learn new things, create or develop their senses. Children can also put stickers of nine fairytale characters in their booklet.

Come, learn new things and take time to make memories.

Mednarodni festival alpskega cvetja delno financira projekt LiveAlpsNature, ki si prizadeva za varovanje bogate biotske raznovrstnosti Alp, hkrati pa omogoča ljudem, da jo odgovorno doživljajo. Alpska zavarovana območja, kot je Triglavski narodni park, so dom izjemnega rastlinskega in živalskega sveta, obenem pa postajajo vse bolj priljubljene destinacije za aktivnosti na prostem in turizem v naravnem okolju. Ta naraščajoči interes lahko predstavlja pritisk na občutljive ekosisteme. LiveAlpsNature združuje strokovnjake iz celotne alpske regije, da bi našli praktične rešitve za usklajevanje teh izzivov. Projekt raziskuje, kako ljudje obiskujejo in doživljajo naravo, ter razvija nove pristope za usmerjanje obiskovalcev na način, ki varuje občutljiva območja, hkrati pa omogoča poglobljena doživetja. S povezovanjem skrbi za naravo in koristi za zdravje ter dobro počutje ljudi, projekt sledi pristopu »eno zdravje« (One Health), ki poudarja, da zdravi ekosistemi podpirajo zdravo življenje. Z iniciativami, kot je ta festival, LiveAlpsNature pomaga zagotavljati, da bosta lepota in raznolikost alpskega cvetja dostopni ne le danes, temveč tudi prihodnjim generacijam.

LiveAlpsNature je projekt, sofinanciran s strani Evropske unije v okviru programa Interreg Alpine Space.

The International Wildflower Festival is partly supported by the LiveAlpsNature project, which works to protect the rich biodiversity of the Alps while allowing people to enjoy it responsibly. Alpine protected areas, like Triglav National Park, are home to exceptional plant and animal life, but they are also increasingly popular destinations for outdoor activities and nature-based tourism. This growing interest can put pressure on fragile ecosystems. LiveAlpsNature brings together experts from across the Alpine region to find practical ways to balance these challenges. The project explores how people visit and experience nature, and develops new ideas to guide visitors in a way that protects sensitive areas while still offering meaningful experiences. By combining care for nature with benefits for people’s health and well-being, the project follows a “One Health” approach, recognising that healthy ecosystems support healthy lives. Through initiatives like this festival, LiveAlpsNature helps ensure that the beauty and diversity of alpine wildflowers can be enjoyed not only today, but for generations to come.

LiveAlpsNature is a project co-funded by the European Union, through the Interreg Alpine Space programme.

V času festivala kuharski mojstri črpajo navdih v lokalnih zgodbah, bohinjskih sestavinah in cvetju iz okoliških travnikov.

V naravi se bohti razkošje barv in okusov. Cvetlice in zeli pa gredo najbolje skupaj ravno s pristno domačo hrano. Večina festivalskih cvetličnih menijev je pripravljenih v certificiranih restavracijah Bohinjsko/From Bohinj in so zagotovilo najboljšega in lokalno iskrenega.

Cvetlična dekoracija v menijih sledi letnim časom in se spreminja glede na sezonsko ponudbo narave.
