GUTTER LOVES
Wake In Memoriam Perverted poisons prickle at my pores, Through frosted glass I view my vanity, Each foot forward further to tragedy, Walking circles within revolving doors. Time s temptations hang me in my turmoil, Deathly daydreams of Love s oblivion, Dusk-slick doorways flicking under neon, Chasing dragons from blackened torn tinfoil. Purgatory submerges soul and body, Evening s leaving with my demon lover, Perverted poisons prickle at my pores. Fragments of days fill out eternity, Sorrows safely under cocaine cover, Walking circles within revolving doors.

SALOMÉ GUSTAVE MOREAU
Rêve d’Orient For Monsieur Moreau
In a dream, as I was, vaporised Floating apparition, faceless fiend Of no expression, lifelessly languishing In artificial twilight trickery, Leching and looming in shadow scenery, Locked in lofty Gothic vaults of unbearable depth Where untold riches remain unknown, Where death-wish explorers dare to roam; A courtesan is weeping quietly in the corner, A dagger clenched beneath her cloak, Debauch me, desert me of this love of lunacy, Let me sink into the sadness of the night, Submerged by starry skies, And then I ll wretch in an alley. Asylums are being built around me; Suicidal tendencies are sweetly Made inside sickly little taverns- Miserable sub-terrain! Secretly I swallow a loathsome lozenge And toss myself off the tallest tower! Only Oriental nightmares await me In endless cities of ethereal energy; Phantasmagoria surround me, Projected phantoms pick at me, Devil please come for me and all my petty passions.
Hero and Live After Wrecked and ravaged by a jealous lust For a girl I never really loved But how I longed for her the day She kissed me sweetly, and turning walked away And how I longed for her thereafter Until I nearly climbed the rafters Until I took a kitchen knife And with it went to end my life
SEATED WOMA N ADJUSTING HER HAIR EDGAR DEGAS
Passage of The Lady Vain Made for murky waters And disembodied courters Feebly writhing Vexed lyric conniving, Descending deep and drunken: Untoward exotic conundrum! In silhouette her hips Made makeshift monoliths While I made for murky waters
YER THE CARD PLA E PAUL CÉZANN
Another endless January, wasted With drinking binges And the rattled hinges Of doors that never close On eyes that never open, But sink, deep beneath Patchwork sheets Of faded blue and fading green Into the horror of a dream: Hotel rooms and bingo halls, Heart shaped clouds and snakes Bottled up with February (Like everything of you in me) Eating themselves into a hole Of self-obsession, Self-annihilation. January is nothing But planned depression With moments missing, Lost in lightless days Of jealousy and greed And then starvation- Of the body, of the mind- Escapism of any kind; And forced regrets, Too hard to forget, Are too easy to remember, Like steamed up windows On the Fourteenth of Novemeber. My year begins in September When the streetlights glow A pinkish red, When the leaves are falling But they havent fallen yet.
Another Endless January

Torn From the tempest’s Side Tempted to many a roadside weary To try and see the world more clearly, To shake away Unreal s myriad Of the sober, sorry and the sad Drawn down ghosted, haunting alleys Like eidolons towards the valleys Of failed endeavor, dark eternity, Forever further from humanity -But closer To gropers Guzzlers, and Grime reapers, Scurriers Siphoners, and Shrine stealersImbroglioed by paving stones, wetted Before approaching squall has petted Such surely shorelines, hated horizon Bony Polaris, abandoned bandwagon And The Hanged Man, still to be tried, Leaving leaving the only way to hide.
