With its inspiring message of joy and hope in the face of fear and illness, it is a fitting celebration of friendship and creativity, and it reminds us to measure our lives by the one thing that truly matters – love. With over 95 years of history at the Wang Theatre and over 100 years of history at the Shubert Theatre, the Boch Center has remained a vital part of Boston’s cultural landscape. Because our theatres only come to life with you - our performers, artists, patrons and guests - we have taken extraordinary efforts to ensure your comfort and safety. And, we are grateful that you are playing your part to help keep us all healthy. In addition to requiring all guests show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test, we have spent millions of dollars on improvements and renovations, including installing ActivePure Technology, the fastest-acting, most powerful surface and air disinfecting system available, touchless water faucets, contactless payment technology, hand sanitizing stations and more. Evolv Technology’s security screening machines utilize AI technology to screen for weapons and move guests through quickly, limiting personal interaction as you make your way to your seats. Boch Center Safety Measures We are committed to helping stop the spread of COVID-19! In the best interest of fans and staff, The Boch Center requires ALL patrons to be fully vaccinated or provide a negative Covid test, taken within the last 72 hours, in order to attend a performance.

Safety Upgrades We are thrilled to partner with ActivePure Technology, the fastest-acting, most powerful surface and air disinfecting technology available. The system evolved from the NASA space program and is now installed in both the Wang and Shubert Theatres. It inactivates up to 99.9 percent of surface and airborne contaminants, including the virus that causes COVID-19 and its variants.

The Boch Center has implemented a number of important safety measures to ensure a safe return to its theatres. She brought nearly 20 years of new play drama turgical experience to her months of work with Jonathan Larson on the script of Rent. She was associate artistic director for the Philadelphia Theatre Company, where she created and administered a new play festi val. She was dramaturg at Circle Repertory Company. She has directed more than 100 productions of both new plays and revivals at regional and New York theaters, and many more workshops and readings of new plays. She is cmTently head of the M.F.A. program in dramaturgy at Brooklyn College. TEEN LEADERSHIP Through our City Spotlights Teen Leadership Employment Programs, we use the performing arts to provide leadership, advocacy, college and career readiness and artistry training for Boston teens. IN-SCHOOL RESIDENCY In partnership with Boston Public Schools, we bring literacy-based arts education programming, promoting social skills in Boston elementary schools.
