How’s the New Boca City Council Doing? The new Save Boca city council members are running city government differently. Slowing down and even temporarily halting city projects once considered a given. Demographics At the CRA downtown district meeting Monday, a project the city has worked on for two years was unexpectantly postponed at the last minute, despite talks with the property owners who were there. At issue were four 600-square-foot apartments described as “affordable housing,” and no onsite parking at 101 E. Palmetto Road. City council, sitting as CRA commissioners, were asked to authorize two zoning changes in an existing building with the new residential units on the second floor, along with site improvements.
