12,000 People Attend City Holiday Tree Lighting at Mizner Park Saturday night, an estimated 12,000 people gathered in Mizner Park and at the Mizner Park Amphitheater for the City of Boca Raton’s annual tree lighting, part of the city’s centennial celebration. The large turnout highlighted just how much this event has become a holiday tradition. With entrances around Mizner Park barricaded, parking quickly became a challenge for guests. A small lot across from the park charged $10, even though the event itself was free, and the complimentary parking garages filled up before the evening officially began. Cars spilled into nearby neighborhoods and no-parking zones, creating congestion throughout the night. See on Page 8
