Walking with Christ is a central theme of the Christian life, calling believers to a steady, faithful relationship that transcends changing circumstances and fluctuating emotions. Scripture consistently emphasizes that discipleship is not rooted in feelings, which can be fickle and unreliable, but in obedience and trust in His Word. The Apostle Paul reminds believers, “For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).

“This means that the Christian journey is anchored in confidence in God’s promises rather than in visible outcomes or emotional reassurance. True faith presses forward even when circumstances are unclear or difficult.

Throughout the Bible, we see that walking with God often involves enduring hardship without wavering. Job stands as a powerful example of this truth; despite immense suffering, he declared, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him” (Job 13:15).

Likewise, the psalmist affirms, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me” (Psalm 23:4).

These passages highlight that walking with God does not exempt believers from trials but assures them of His presence within them. Hallelujah! Faithfulness is proven not in ease, but in perseverance . In the New Testament, Jesus calls His followers to a daily commitment that is not dependent on personal comfort. In Luke 9:23, He says, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” This command underscores the ongoing nature of walking with Christ—it is a continual act of surrender. Feelings may falter, motivation may weaken, but obedience must remain. The Christian walk is sustained not by emotional highs but by a disciplined devotion rooted in love for Christ. Moreover, Scripture teaches that steadfastness in the Christian walk produces spiritual maturity. James exhorts believers to “count it all joy… when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness” (James 1:2–3).

Similarly, Paul writes in Galatians 5:16, “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” Walking with Christ requires intentional reliance on the Holy Spirit, especially when feelings tempt believers to stray. Over time, this consistent walk transforms character and deepens faith. Ultimately, the believer’s walk with Christ is grounded in the unchanging nature of God Himself. Hebrews 13:8 declares, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Because Christ does not change, the foundation of our walk remains secure regardless of life’s uncertainties. Therefore, Christians are called to remain faithful, trusting that God is working even when they cannot see or feel it. Walking with Christ is not about perfection or constant emotional assurance, but about persistent trust and obedience that glorifies God in every season. Always remember that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He has us in His hands!

Welcome to our “It’s Personal” page. For so long we’v haring our highs and lows, praises and prayer requests with you, our dear friends and family. We wanted to stay connected with you because with God, it’s always personal. We hope you enjoy a little of our family connections.

Where has the time gone?! I had not realized I didn’t put out a March or April newsletter .

So many of you had been praying for Bob’s knee replacement surgery. If you’ve stayed up with him on fb you know it went well. He is still having residual pain but his hardware just is new and needs broken in I guess. Then came another surprise hernia surgery in April. All of his missions trips had to be put on hold. But he is bouncing back well and is planning on going to Cuba soon! Pakistan will be delayed until September. But he has a renewal of excitiment to get back to what God has created him for. Please continue to pray for him as we minister at Ray of Hope Church in Harrisonburg, VA, and have really fallen in love with the people there.

I am so happy to be able to be applying for teachers positions. I am focused on Kindergarten and I believe God will give me the desire of my heart. School will be wrapped up soon and I have to finish a few more things to be officially certified.

Tori and Sam and family have found their new little home and now we get to be neighbors. It’s been a lot of fun. Luke has been working two jobs, saving up for a vehicle and a nest egg. We are so proud of him. Two jobs is tough. But we are thankful for the employment opportunities provided to him.
