HISTORY
1879
Foundation of Rosenthal
Founded in 1879, Rosenthal is a story of father and son - the founder Philipp Rosenthal Senior and the visionary and enterprising Philip Rosenthal Junior. The former laid the foundations for porcelain production, which was already modern at the time, while the latter built Rosenthal into a major brand of international renown. Philipp Rosenthal laid the foundations for his company when he set up a porcelain painting business in Erkersreuth Castle in Selb.
1891
Building first own porcelain factory
After his initial commercial success, Philipp Rosenthal decided to produce his own porcelain in 1891. The new porcelain factory in Selb attracted attention because of the technical developments and contemporary design, as the sophisticated company founder was always searching for new ideas.
1908
Purchase of the „Thomas“ porcelain factory
Rosenthal purchased the F. Thomas porcelain factory which had been founded in 1904 in Marktredwitz. In 1960, production moved to the newly built „Thomas am Kulm“ factory in Speichersdorf. Rosenthal developed its second brand Thomas in the post-war period specifically for a younger audience. Today, the Thomas brand sets trends in the industry.
1910
Foundation of art department
The creation of the factory’s own art department for the production of porcelain figures emphasises the high standing and appreciation for the Rosenthal brand name. Until that time, an art department was a privilege reserved for royal factories.
1916
Maria - how love became a story about porcelain
There are love stories that are so beautiful that you can hardly believe them. Just like the story of Philipp Rosenthal and his wife Maria who married in 1916. The Privy Counsellor adored her so much that, without any hesitation, he named a porcelain service after her. He had no idea it would become a bestseller sold to millions.
1950
A new beginning with Philip Rosenthal (Jnr)
In 1950, Philip Rosenthal, son of the founder of the company, joined Rosenthal AG. He started as an advertising manager, then became responsible for managing product design, after which he became Head of Sales. As CEO, Philip Rosenthal had a crucial influence in the development of Rosenthal AG between 1958 and 1981.
1961
Creation of the Rosenthal studio-line
In 1961, Philip Rosenthal set the course for product development with the development of the “Rosenthal studioline” brand. Long before design was en vogue, Rosenthal had already been working with contemporary artists, designers and architects, and amongst these were famous names such as Raymond Loewy, Walter Gropius or Tapio Wirkkala. To date, more than 1000 artists have designed unique collections for Rosenthal.
1967-1969
Bauhaus Collaboration
The new „Rosenthal am Rothbühl” porcelain factory was designed by Walter Gropius, built in 1967.
Also in collaboration with Walter Gropius, the iconic TAC collection was created in 1969, which epitomises minimalism with its striking shapes and clear lines. TAC remains one of Rosenthal‘s great and favourite design classics to this day.
1992
Launch of Rosenthal meets Versace
The collaboration with Milanese fashion house Versace started in 1992 under the leadership of Gianni Versace. He aimed to realise his concept of a Versace Lifestyle and found Rosenthal to be the perfect partner. Today, the inimitable and extravagant designs are in the hands of Donatella Versace. Rosenthal meets Versace translates her fashion creations into unique tableware collections.
2000
Acquisition of Hutschenreuther Rosenthal acquired this traditional and very well-known brand in 2000 when it purchased the Hutschenreuther name –which was founded in 1814.
2009
Rosenthal becomes part of the Arcturus Group
With Arcturus and Rosenthal, two great companies dedicated to design and innovation, high quality products and customer satisfaction have joined. Sambonet, Paderno, Ercuis and Raynaud also belong to this Group, a global leader in the production of high-quality designer items for both the table and the kitchen at home and in the hotel sector.
2022
Collaboration with Swarovski
In continuing to collaborate with iconic brands, Swarovski expanded Rosenthal’s horizons into a wondrous world of crystal in 2022. Both, the German and the Austrian company, have heritage of excellence in craftsmanship, a passion for material and expertise in producing exclusive products.
AWARD -WINNING DESIGN
The first tableware brand in history to collaborate with artists and designers, leading to more than 200 international design awards.

OUR PORCELAIN: A NATURAL PRODUCT
For over 140 years, we manufacture durable and high-quality porcelain products that do not release any harmful substances from the raw materials used and along the entire product life cycle.
Sustainability plays a key role in our entire production cycle. As a production company that consumes resources, we have set ourselves the task of minimising and optimising this consumption. We set the course for this decades ago and took important measures to continuously improve our corporate processes.
One of our primary goals is to replace the natural gas we still need for our porcelain firing with a regenerative alternative to reduce our CO2 emissions further. We are collaborating with research institutes, the “Verband Keramischer Industrie” (German Ceramic Association) and our competent partners to develop the necessary technical requirements and ensure the availability of this regenerative option.
SUSTAINABILITY
WHAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED ENERGY SAVING
RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES
Energy generated in a 100% ecological way and in our sustainable vehicle fleet we promote electric mobility with electric energy.
Thanks to our combined heat and power plant, we generate electricity and heat for our own consumption and we also have heat recovery systems at our major production kilns. In addition, our energy management system enables us to reduce our electricity and gas consumption.
RESOURCE OPTIMISATION
Our commitment to optimising the use of resources enables us to reduce our paper and packaging materials. The best possible design and implementation of our production processes generally leads to the efficient and resource-conserving. In addition, we reuse material waste in our own processes and if reuse in our own process is not possible, we recycle materials by reutilising them as valuable production materials in other industries as secondary use. In addition, recycling and waste separation are key components of our environmental activities in all areas of the company.
ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATION QUALITY CONTROL CERTIFICATION
Since 2017, we pursue the goal of constantly reducing our influence on the environment by preventing possible environmental risks and aiming for an increasingly ecosustainable economy. We are committed to protecting our environment, fulfilling the organisation's binding obligations (relevant environmental laws and regulations), establishing an environmental management system appropriate to our organisation, continuously improving our environmental management and conserving resources (raw materials, energy, water, air and soil).
ECOVADIS GOLD MEDAL
The EcoVadis Gold Medal, valid for twelve months until January 2027, recognizes Rosenthal’s outstanding sustainability performance. With a score of 82 out of 100 points, the company ranks among the top five percent worldwide. The distinction confirms the consistent integration of sustainability across strategy and operations and highlights Rosenthal’s commitment to responsible, transparent and future focused business practices along the entire value chain.
Since 1997, we optimise workflows through regular documentation, analysis and evaluation to ensure better work efficiency and quality control throughout the supply chain. This allows us to control and monitor the entire production cycle, ensure after-sales services and distribution channels. In addition, our products are subjected to a 100% manual final check.
Commitment to reducing CO2 emissions, sustainably reducing energy consumption of electricity and gas, increasing energy efficiency through continuous improvements. We are also committed to sustainable energy efficiency through 100% renewable electric energy at all locations, heat recovery, an in-house combined heat and power plant, the use of LED lighting, electromobility and much more. We take a particularly critical look at our energy-intensive production processes in order to minimise the use of energy.

GENERAL SALES
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
General Sales Terms and Conditions
1. Offers from Rosenthal are non-binding. Rosenthal reserves the right to amend the offer as long as it is not described explicitly as binding. Delivery dates are only binding when confirmed explicitly as such by Rosenthal in the order confirmation. Cases of force majeure such as non-self-caused strikes, disruption to operations, difficulties in procurement of raw materials etc. allow Rosenthal to withdraw from the contract. Part deliveries are acceptable insofar as they are reasonable.
2. Prices listed are recommended prices, without VAT.
3. Minimum order value is € 250,00 net. International deliveries are shipped ex works.
4. Any complaints can be made in writing up to 8 days after receipt of goods.
5. In case of withdrawal from an order contract for which Rosenthal cannot be made responsible, a cancellation fee of 30% of the order value will be charged if the withdrawal is made more than seven days after order confirmation; for customized products the cancellation fee is 100 %.
6. Any return of delivered goods is subject to written agreement from Rosenthal GmbH and the following conditions:
a) Returns must be made in the original packaging.
b) Returns are to be sent to our premises in Speichersdorf and are at the risk and cost of the customer.
c) In case of reasonable defects Rosenthal is obliged to deliver a complete replacement to the agreed class of goods to the exclusion of all other rights.
d) In case of return of goods as a goodwill gesture, the customer is liable for any deterioration. Any expense incurred by returns (unpacking, inspection, repackaging etc.) will incur a charge corresponding to 15% of the value of the goods. Returned goods will be credited on the
proviso that they are in perfect condition.
7. Additional decoration such as lines, borders, bands, gilt crests and individual patterns are available on request. For glass items crests are available on request. Individually styled articles can be made on request. To produce crests usable artwork is needed (final drawing, printable pdf...).
a) Minimum order quantity for initial orders with individual patterns or designs is 120 pieces per article (key items).
b) For orders less than 600 pieces occurring costs for lithography and printing will be invoiced.
c) Reordering with a minimum quantity of 120 pieces. For reorders below 50 pieces per single article an extra charge for small quantities amounting to 10% of the order value will be invoiced.
8. As a rule, all decorative items are made to order, as such we reserve the right to a delivery margin of +/10%.

Due to brand change articles of the series Joyn, Cucina and Tric might be delivered with the old Arzberg backstamp for a period of time.
Allgemeine Lieferbedingungen
1. Angebote von Rosenthal sind freibleibend, d.h. Rosenthal behält sich die Auftragsannahme vor, sofern ein Angebot nicht ausdrücklich als bindend bezeichnet worden ist. Liefertermine sind nur verbindlich, wenn sie von Rosenthal in der Auftragsbestätigung ausdrücklich als verbindlich bestätigt worden sind. Fälle von höherer Gewalt, wie z.B. nicht selbstverschuldete Streiks, Betriebsstörungen, Schwierigkeiten in der Rohstoffbeschaffung usw. berechtigen Rosenthal zum Rücktritt vom Vertrag. Teillieferungen sind zulässig, soweit zumutbar.
2. Die in dieser Liste genannten Preise sind unverbindliche Preisempfehlungen, zuzüglich gesetzlicher Mehrwertsteuer.
3. Mindestbestellwert pro Auftrag 250,00 € netto. Internationale Lieferungen werden ab Werk geliefert. Für Lieferungen innerhalb Deutschlands: Bis 500€ Netto-Auftragswert werden Fracht- und Verpackungskosten berechnet. Über 500,00 € erfolgen Lieferungen in Deutschland frei Haus zzgl. Verpackung. Die Kosten für die Standard-Verpackung werden so niedrig wie möglich gehalten.
4. Beanstandungen jeglicher Art sind innerhalb von 8 Tagen nach Erhalt der Ware schriftlich geltend zu machen.
5. Bei Rücktritt von einem Auftrag aus von Rosenthal nicht zu vertretendem Grund nach mehr als sieben Tagen nach Auftragsbestätigung wird eine Stornogebühr in Höhe von 30% des Auftragswertes fällig; bei Sonderanfertigungen nach Kundenwunsch beträgt die Stornogebühr 100%.
6. Eventuelle Rücksendungen von gelieferter Ware sind nur mit schriftlichem Einverständnis der Rosenthal GmbH und zu den folgenden Konditionen vorzunehmen:
a) Rücksendung muss in der Original-Verpackung erfolgen.
b) Rücksendungen sind auf Gefahr und Kosten des Kunden frei Haus unserem Lager in Speichersdorf vorzunehmen.
c) Bei begründeten Mängeln ist Rosenthal unter Ausschluss aller sonstigen Ansprüche zur Lieferung einer im Rahmen der vereinbarten Güteklasse fehlerfreien Sache verpflichtet.
d) Bei Rücknahme von Ware aus Kulanzgründen haftet der Käufer für jede Verschlechterung. Für den Rücknahmeaufwand
(Auspacken, Überprüfung, Neuverpackung etc.) werden pauschal 15 % des Warenwerts gekürzt. Die Rückware wird gutgeschrieben, sofern sie sich in einem einwandfreien Zustand befindet.
7. Vignetten und Sonderdekore wie Linien, Ränder, Bänder, Goldvignetten und Individualdekore sind auf Anfrage möglich. Auch auf Glasartikeln sind Vignetten auf Anfrage möglich. Individuelle Sonderausführungen werden auf Anfrage angeboten. Für die Herstellung der Vignetten benötigen wir eine reprofähige Vorlage (Reinzeichnung, Film o.ä.).
a) Die Mindestbestellmenge für Erstaufträge mit individuellen Vignetten oder Sonderdekoren beträgt 120 Stück pro Artikel (Hauptartikel).
b) Bei Bestellungen unter 600 Stück werden die anfallenden Kosten für Lithographie und Druck in Rechnung gestellt.
c) Für Nachbestellungen gilt eine Mindestbestellmenge von 120 Stück. Bei Nachbestellungen unter 50 Stück pro Artikel wird ein Mindermengenzuschlag in Höhe von 10% des Auftragswertes in Rechnung gestellt.
8. Alle Dekorartikel werden grundsätzlich auf Bestellung angefertigt, daher behalten wir uns eine Mehr- oder Minderlieferung bis zu 10 % vor. m Mikrowellengeeignet f Spülmaschinenfest h Hochwertdekor
Edelmetalldekore sind durch die natürlichen Materialeigenschaften nicht völlig unempfindlich gegen Verkratzen.
9. Die Lieferungen erfolgen zu den vereinbarten Lieferund Zahlungsbedingungen.

1. Les offres de Rosenthal sont sans engagement et les commandes sont soumises à l‘approbation de Rosenthal, ce qui signifie que Rosenthal se réserve le droit d‘accepter la commande postérieure à l‘offre. Les dates et les conditions de livraison sont obligatoires seulement si confirmés par Rosenthal sur la confirmation de commande. En cas de force majeure tels que les grèves, incidents techniques, difficultés d‘approvisionnement en matières premières et qui ne lui sont pas imputables, Rosenthal est autorisée de résilier le contrat. Les livraisons partielles sont autorisées dans la mesure du raisonnable.
2. Les prix mentionnés sur cette liste sont des prix conseillés sans obligation, taxe sur la valeur ajoutée légale en sus.
3. La valeur minimale de commande individuelle est d’un montant net de 250,00 €. Les livraisons internationales sont effectuées départ usine.
4. Les réclamations de quelque nature que ce soit doivent être adressées par écrit dans un délai de 8 jours à compter de la réception des marchandises.
5. En cas d’annulation d’une commande pour une raison non imputable à Rosenthal plus de sept jours suivant sa confirmation, des frais d’annulation de l’ordre de 30 % du montant de la commande seront dus ; en cas de fabrication spéciale selon les souhaits du client, ces frais seront de 100 %.
6. Les renvois éventuels de marchandises livrées requièrent l’accord écrit de Rosenthal GmbH et sont à effectuer en respectant les conditions ci-après:
a) Le renvoi doit être effectué dans l’emballage d’origine.
b) Les renvois sont à adresser à notre entrepôt à Speichersdorf, franco de port, aux frais et aux risques du client.
c) En cas de défauts avérés, Rosenthal est tenu de procéder à la livraison d’une marchandise sans défaut dans le cadre de la catégorie de qualité convenue, à l’exclusion de tout autre droit.
d) En cas de reprise de marchandises à titre commercial, l’acheteur est tenu responsable de toute détérioration.
Un forfait correspondant à 15 % de la valeur de la marchandise est appliqué au titre des frais de reprise (déballage, contrôle, réemballage, etc.). La
marchandise en retour est créditée dans la mesure où elle est en parfait état.
7. Les décors spéciaux tels que les lignes, les bords, les bandes, les vignettes dorées et les décors individuels peuvent être exécutés sur demande. Pour les articles en verre, les crêtes sont disponibles sur demande. Des articles de style individuel peuvent être fabriqués sur demande. Pour la réalisation des écussons, il est nécessaire de disposer d'un dessin utilisable (dessin final, pdf imprimable...).
a) La quantité minimale pur les commandes initials avec des motifs ou des dessins individuels est de 120 piéces par article (produits principaux).
b) Pour les commandes inférieures à 600 pièces, les coûts de lithographie et d'impression seront facturés.
c) Pour les commandes ultérieures, la quantité minimale est de 120 pièces. Pour les commandes de moins de 50 pièces par article, un supplément pour petites quantités s'élevant à 10% de la valeur de la commande sera facturé.
8. Tous les articles décors sont fabriqués sur commande et nous nous réservons de ce fait la possibilité d’une livraison supérieure ou inférieure de 10 % à la quantité commandée.

9. Les livraisons sont effectuées aux conditions de livraison et de paiement convenues.

• Visualization in 2 days: get a visualization within 2 days, upon receipt of all necessary information
• Sample in 2 weeks: Receive an initial s ample within 2 weeks. This includes a dinner plate and a maximum of one additional item, such as a bowl or a cup with saucer.
