Bogstadveien
– Norway’s longest shopping street
Shop, dine, and sightsee at your own pace, along the capital’s longest and most well-known shopping street. Take the 2-kilometre scenic route from the Royal Palace to Vigeland Sculpture Park through this popular high street. Located just a 5-minute walk from the Royal Palace, you’ll find the first stretch, leading you directly onto Hegdehaugsveien and, in turn, Bogstadveien. At the very top, you can catch your breath, enjoy a quick bite, and some people-watching, before heading over to the spectacular sculptures in one of Oslo’s most popular parks.

Market Days
Twice a year, every spring and autumn since 1988, we have hosted Market Days, during which Bogstadveien, Hegdehaugsveien and Valkyriegata are closed to traffic. This creates Norway’s longest and best fashion market. The streets are lined with stalls on both sides, inviting you to explore 1.2 kilometres of fantastic deals and unique finds!
Cozy Christmas shopping
Our iconic chandeliers light up the entire street from November to February. There’s something truly special about strolling from shop to shop along a warmly lit street, where each store has its own personality. There’s no need to queue – you can shop at your own pace in the fresh, open air. Admire the Christmas-decorated shop windows, treat yourself to something special, like a cup of cocoa, or enjoy a light Christmas lunch at one of the area’s many cafés and restaurants.
Art at every corner
Bogstadveien and Hegdehaugsveien offer more than just beautiful architecture; here, you’ll find several galleries, sculptures in our parks and along the streets, as well as our very own local artist and sculpture park at TBS Gallery – a stop on the way to Vigeland Sculpture Park is a must.
The TBS is an art museum, gallery, and cultural centre, dedicated to artist Tore Bjørn Skjølsvik, and features a permanent exhibition of over 200 works. A visit is a must for any art aficionado.
