Bloomington Community Orchard Join the Bloomington Community Orchard for free weekly Work & Learn Days The Orchard is a public food forest for all to enjoy, and the harvest is available to everyone. Griffy Lake Nature Preserve

cascadesgolfcourse.org Cascades Golf Course Golf Facilities Manager: Jason Sims Golf Course Superintendent: Brad Scroggins Golf Program Coordinator: Jackson Cowden Cascades Golf Course consists of three nine-hole courses, which can be combined to create three separate 18-hole configurations. The Quarry Course is a par-35, playing a maximum of 2,995 yards. The Pine Course was constructed in 1931 and is a par-36, playing a maximum of 3,135 yards. The Ridge Course is a par-36 which plays a maximum of 3,086 yards. Individual or group golf lessons may be scheduled with our on-site golf pro by calling 3493764. Beer and soft drinks are available for purchase from Cascades concessions. Individuals may not bring their own alcoholic beverages onto the golf course.

Griffy Lake is a 1,220-acre nature preserve with a 109-acre lake. Swimming is prohibited. The lake is stocked with bluegill, redear sunfish, largemouth bass, channel catfish, and crappie. Watercraft rentals are available seasonally. Dogs must remain leashed while in the preserve. Bicycles, and motorized vehicles including electric bikes, mopeds, Onewheels, and Segways, are not permitted on any trails at Griffy Lake.

OPEN 5 a.m.–11 p.m. daily This 65-acre community gathering place features a playground, trails, a spray pad, dog park, skate park, picnic areas, public art, and plenty of open space to relax and explore. The park is also home to concerts, festivals, farmers' markets, and other community events throughout the year. Whether you're visiting for an afternoon walk or a day of family fun, there's always something happening at Switchyard Park. Butler Park Community Gardens

Nestled in the southwest corner of Rev. Ernest D. Butler Park at the intersection of West Ninth and North John Streets. The garden includes in-ground plots (available in two sizes), as well as raised bed gardens.

Switchyard Park Community Gardens

Located at the north end of the park, accessible by the B-Line Trail or the Grimes Lane parking lot.

Willie Streeter Community Gardens

Located in Winslow Woods Park on South Highland Avenue. The garden includes in-ground plots (available in two sizes), as well as raised bed gardens.

Ballfield Rentals

Shelter house reservations may be made online any time at bloomington.in.gov/parks/rentals/shelters or in person at the Bloomington Parks and Recreation office, Monday–Friday, from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Shelters are available for rental April 1 through Oct. 31. Reservations are accepted year round on a first-come, first-served basis.

Butler Park Field

Two multi-purpose fields with lights are available for rent at Olcott Park with varying rates for practices or competitions. Field lining is available for an additional fee. Rental times available by the hour.

Twin Lakes Sports Park

Four, 300' fenced ballfields with lights are available for rent at Twin Lakes Sports Park with varying rates for on-site maintenance. Rental times available by the hour or by the day.

Winslow Sports Complex

Four, 200' fenced ballfields with lights, and one senior baseball field with lights, are available for rent at with varying rates for practices or competitions and on-site maintenance. Rental times available by the hour or by the day.

Park Event Permits

Detailed information regarding permits and application forms are available online at bton.in/29U90. A Park Special Use Permit is required to hold a large-scale event, a race, walk, run, or other event in city parks and trails. For more information, contact Hsiung Marler, Recreation Facilities General Manager, at marlerh@bloomington.in.gov. Approval for Alcohol Sales: Groups may request to serve beer and/or wine at an event, once the group has successfully applied for a Park Special Use Permit. Beer and/or wine ONLY may be served in city-owned parks, trails, and facilities, and ONLY with approval. Mobile Stage Rental: Planning a big performance in Monroe County? Rent our mobile stage, which is available by the day with a refundable deposit. Renters must provide an electrical hookup, and only Parks and Recreation staff may transport the stage. Call 349-3725 for details. Hourly Park Use Permit: Instructors of classes, or personal trainers who charge fees must obtain an Hourly Park Use Permit to hold those classes in city parks. The Parks and Recreation Department is authorized to review and approve Noise Permits for events on Parks properties.
