This season as we continue our studies in domestic materiality with American White Oak, Roble - California Valley Oak, Tule Rush, Guanacaste, Flamed Copper, Selenite Marquetry, and terracotta, we have also worked to introduce new materials to our practice. We have sourced new materials and craftwork indigenous to the regions on the three shores of the Mediterranean, along the Nile River, throughout the Fertile Crescent Region, down the Pacific Coastline, from the Gulf of California, and throughout North America. An increased attention to fine detail and traditional joinery along with refined scale and a transcendent perspective, embodies a new chapter in our journey. Limed and vegetable tanned goatskin vellum, olive ash burl, and Euphrates bullrush, handblown glass and marble from quarries specified by pharaohs are among the building blocks of our collections. Ourprocess, regardless of material origin, gives special attention to construction, texture, and manipulation of nature.
