COMMUNITY
UPDATE
THANK YOU
to our customers for your patience and support In these unprecedented times, we’re pausing our regular flyer activity so our associates can focus on staying safe and keeping our shelves stocked with everything you need. We appreciate the ongoing opportunity to meet your needs, and we hope to be a helpful – and even inspiring – resource to you now. Today is not business as usual. There are a lot of new things we are doing to support associates, communities and you, our customer, at this time. But our commitment to saving you money, so you can live better, is everlasting and we work hard to keep our promise.
Count on us for LOW PRICES every day Serving your community is our priority OUR STORES ARE OPEN
We’re working with all levels of government to ensure grocers and pharmacies will be there for Canadian families. Here’s what’s happening at Walmart:
We’ve dedicated the opening hour (7-8 am) exclusively for seniors, people living with disabilities, and those with vulnerable health conditions. Please note: Exceptions apply. Given evolving circumstances, please always check Walmart.ca for your local store’s hours. We’re well-stocked. There’s plenty of food and supplies, and our teams are working around the clock to replenish our shelves to deal with demand. Some stores are limiting quantities per customer to ensure there are more products available for more customers. Pickup and delivery demand is high. To help Canadians self-isolate, we’ve made changes to Walmart.ca to allow grocery home deliveries to be left at their door. We offer contact-free pick-up.
SUPPORTING OUR ASSOCIATES We’ve announced steps to provide additional support for Associates affected by the crisis. To support our Associates, we have arranged for: Access to live online physician care for all 90,000+ Associates. Accelerated annual bonus payments Increased wages by $2/hour to support our store and distribution centre Associates.
WE’RE HIRING 10,000 ASSOCIATES! We want to immediately hire 10,000 more Associates in our stores and distribution centres. Please visit http://careers.walmart.ca
Safety is our priority
We have introduced new store disinfecting protocols to ensure the cleanliness of our stores. This means that our self-checkout machines, cash registers and belts, all door knobs and door handles, as well as all other store common areas will be disinfected every 30 minutes or less.

Creative Ideas for the Family
Cooking with Kids Kids will love this fun activity, which is equal parts home-schooling, creative art and snack-time!
Skewer It! Kabobs are simple to make. Start with kabob skewers or toothpicks. Arrange a variety of colourful bite-sized foods on a plate, and have the kids thread food onto skewers. They can practice counting or learning their colours as they craft their snacks. Try one of these fun ideas: • Fruit kabobs: use any fresh, canned or defrosted fruit • Salad skewers: try lettuce, cherry tomatoes, sweet peppers and cucumber • Sandwich sticks: arrange deli meat, cheese, tomato and cubed bread
Get Crafty with Toast
Breads, spreads and some imagination are all you need for this giggly fun food idea. HINT: Not great with a knife? Use kitchen scissors instead to cut the whiskers, nose and eyes.
The Bear
The Bunny
The Owl
The Lion
Raise your paw if you want PB and banana! Make this cute cub by spreading a thin layer of nut butter on bread, and topping it with a fruit face (any fruit will work!)
Wish your kids a “hoppy” Easter with this bunny breakfast or snack. Spread bread with cream cheese, and create whiskers from carrots, celery or any veggies that you have.
Your kids will have a hoot helping you create this inquisitive fellow on their toast. Use nut butter and fruit to make this wise owl.
Kids will have a roaring good time when they see this on their plate! Use nut butter for the face and jam for the snout, and add any fruits that your children like best.
Family Fun Gather the family together for charades, crafts, games and a communal clean-up. Try something new with these creative twists to everyday ideas.
Scavenger Hunt
Challenge the kids to find an array of colourful bits and pieces lying around your home, and use them for an art project. Check in desk drawers, baskets, toy bins and other hiding places to collect odds and ends like paper clips, elastics, lids, ribbon, yarn and more.
Flower Power Craft
Even before the flowers start to bloom, you can create your own indoor bouquets. Cut flower shapes and stems from clean, dry items in your recycling bin, decorate them with the bits you found on the scavenger hunt, and display them in a vase or jar.
Save money. Live better.™
