It’s the best of times and the worst of times. The best of times because there is nothing more fun than the Spring Splash weekend at Kimberley Alpine Resort; and the worst of times because it means skiing is over for another year — except for those hardy souls who continue to hike the hill until there is no more snow. In any event, it is time for Kimberley Alpine Resort’s biggest party. It will follow the same schedule as every year, the splash pond on Saturday, the Dummy Downhill on Sunday; live music, big crowds and fun, fun, fun. And new this year, the Resort is offering heli-sightseeing flights. Five seats are available per flight, at $139.95 plus tax per person. That gives you a 15 minute

CITY OF KIMBERLEY

The City of Kimberley reports that the dam at Mark Creek is barely keeping up with water demand.

Conserve water C AROLYN GR ANT Bulletin Editor

The City of Kimberley is urging residents to continue to choose water use needs wisely as the Mark Creek Dam is barely keeping up with demand right now. “This is just cautionary, no need to panic,” said Mayor Don McCormick. “It’s really a continuation of the low

water we had last fall. Until we get into the freshet, we ask for continued water conservation.” Those measures will continue as Council enacted an updated water conservation strategy last fall. The freshet should be normal, as snow packs in the East Kootenay were at 98 per cent of normal as of the March survey.
