Fire in Maple Street building
Firefighters were called to a fire at a building on Maple Street in Campbellton around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Smoke billowed out from the interior of the building before firefighters decided to use the hose on the ladder truck to knock the fire down and gain control of it. On Twitter, explaining the use of the ladder hose, Campbell River Fire and Rescue reported: “18:25 Campbell River crews responded to a fire in a recycling facility. Crews found heavy fire and went defensive.”
