Meet Our Cover Artist Francine Lanoie was born in Quebec and moved to BC 22 years ago, first to Kamloops, then to Revelstoke two years ago. Self-taught, she has been painting on and off for many years but recently started exploring and playing more with it full time. No subject is off limits if there is inspiration to be found! Working mostly from acrylics, she also enjoys working with oils and watercolour, depending on the subject matter.

You can email her at francinelanoie@gmail.com to find out where you can see more of her artwork.

YOGA ESSENTIALS

Friday Yin: Often called ‘Joint Yoga’, Yin involves longer held stretches targeting the deeper connective tissues in our joints - primarily the hips and spine. As we age our fascia tightens and restricts our range of motion and joint mobility. Due to the amount of stress and chaos inherent in our everyday lives we also tend to lose our ability to remain focused, calm, and present. Join this class to improve flexibility, joint health, & vitality, move with greater ease, help manage stress & calm the mind.

Prices:

10 x punch card: $110.25 (tax included) 5 x punch card : $57.75 Drop in: $12 (with minimum class requirements met)

Helios Rehabilitation & Performance “Core” Circuit: This class will focus on core strengthening, upper and lower body muscle training, and cardiovascular conditioning. The intensity will be set by you and there are many options for progressions as the weeks go on. For those who don’t feel like they are at the top of their game this circuit will help you ”get up and go”. This circuit will progress into Hard “Core” Circuit if you are interested in continuing your training. Hard “Core” Circuit: This is our traditional pre season circuit for those looking to get in shape for their favorite winter activities. This conditioning 6 week program will run from the middle of October until the end of November, preparing you for the winter season. REVELSTOKE YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION Development / Rep Program In addition to the Spring House League soccer program, RYSA also supports a Development / Rep Program. The objective of this program is to encourage further skill and technical abilities at a level beyond the House program. Teams in this program play in the Thompson Okanagan Youth Soccer League (TOYSL) and travel to Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon, Salmon Arm and Kamloops for games in late April, May and June. Both the Development and Rep Program are open to new players for the 2015-2016 season. These are players born no later than 2006 (age 9) and up to 1998. New and existing Rep/Dev players can register on September 9th, 2015 at the Community Centre as part of Mass Registration Night. A post-dated cheque for Nov 1, 2015 of $195 is required; this will be cashed once teams and practices are set. The fee includes player insurance, House fees, referee fees, TOYSL fees and basic uniform. All Rep/Dev players must play in the RYSA House league up to the U13 division. A refund will be available should the player not be successful or no team available in the age category. A Parent Meeting will be held September 23, 2015 to outline the possible team groupings, commitment requirements, expectations and field questions. Players will be evaluated in early October with the intent to formulate teams by the end of October. Practice generally begins around Christmas depending on coach’s availability and schedule.

FALL SOCCER: Join RYSA’s community coaches for some soccer this fall!! The focus of this program will be on skill development and having fun. Scrimmages and game play will be a part of each session.
