WELCOME TO THE ALBERNI DISTRICT FALL FAIR The Alberni District Fall Fair showcases the best of the Alberni Valley and surrounding areas. Our exhibitors play an important part in achieving this by adding colour, interest, education and entertainment to our fair. Celebrating the Many Colours of our Community is this year’s theme. In 1946 the Farmer’s Institute approached the Kinsmen Club of Port Alberni to build a venue to showcase the abundance of agriculture the Alberni Valley had to offer. They formed the Alberni District Fall Fair, and the fair hasn’t looked back since. The goals remain consistent to this day; to advance the interest of the public in farming, stock raising, industrial, sporting and community activities. To use the proceeds for the purpose of promoting or assisting enterprise, designed to advance the civic or community welfare of the Alberni District. The Alberni District Fall Fair strives to be the #1

destination for family entertainment. The fair offers something for all ages. Not only is there a midway, a parade, logger sports, tractor pulls, home & business show and excellent entertainment, we want to showcase your jams, jellies, heirloom quilts, hobbies, prize flowers and vegetables, or home baking. We appreciate the long but loving hours it took to produce these items, and want to encourage more people to participate so we can display your accomplishments for all to see. Education plays a big component within the displays, the fair tries to add as much economic importance to each of the displays as possible. Livestock also plays a major role at our fair, whether you are entering your 4-H projects or other livestock, we have the capacity to exhibit them. We wish all the exhibitors the best of luck with your entries and extend an invitation to everyone to join us at the fair – Sept. 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th, 2015.
