President’s Message Once again, I, on behalf of the Billy Barker Days Society invite you, residents of Quesnel and visitors from across the country, to meet for fun and entertainment at B.C.’s #1 free family festival. This event would not happen without hundreds of corporate sponsors providing funds/supplies to the Festival and once again, they have come through! Their names will be listed in various publications/signage during the four days of this event – July 16th to 19th – support them as they support the Festival. Also, take the time to thank our core group of volunteers, wearing the yellow shirts, as most of them work year-round to ensure the various events happen. 42nd Annual Billy Barker Days’ Festival On behalf of Quesnel City Council, I would like to welcome out-of-town guests and residents to our 42nd Annual Billy Barker Days’ Festival which kicks off Thursday, July 16th and runs through Sunday, July 19, 2015. The Billy Barker Days’ Society is a group of volunteers who work tirelessly to put together this annual event which boasts many great activities for the whole family, including: a fun and eclectic arrangement of entertainment on the Lebourdais Park Friendship Stage, Thursday night Crash to Pass at our local race track, Quesnel Rodeo, Saturday morning Parade, Slam Jam Skateboard and Bike competition, Teddy Bear clinic, pancake breakfasts galore, Saturday dance at the Seniors’ Centre and more…wrapping up with the Sunday evening fireworks display. So no wonder they inspired the title — and the music — of his fifth album Everything I Love, out July 9 on eOne Music Canada. “I just wanted to share all the sides of my personality,” explains the 33‐year‐old singer‐songwriter, husband and father from Pembroke, Ont. “I like to cut up with friends and play a little too loud. My family’s really important to me. And in recent years, I’ve had a kind of spiritual awakening. Entering my 30s, I finally found balance in my life and got my priorities right. I learned you can have a little bit of fun on Saturday night and be at church on Sunday morning. That’s really where I’m at. In fact, I toyed with the idea of calling the record Saturday Night and Sunday Morning. But really, there’s much more Saturday night than there is Sunday morning on the album.”
