Christy Moser I love working with kids, and I love planning activities and learning opportunities that are fun, exciting, and safe for all of our campers. I believe the campers will enjoy the wide range of themes, activities, and adventures we have planned for all of our camps, including crafts, games, swimming, and out-trips! When I was nine years old, I wanted to be a scientist. Now I’m in school studying linguistics and speech sciences, and I am planning on becoming a speech-language pathologist!

Saanich Neighbourhood Playground Programs June 29 to Sept 3 • 5½ to 11yrs *Children must be eligible to register for Grade 1.*

Once upon a time, there was a world without video games and movies. This was a time when adventures were lived and remembered. Through animation, thrilling games, hilarious songs and a little creativity we bring the summer to life for your children. Each week is a new chapter in our story that will navigate us to Mumbledore’s Missing Memories. Join us for one week or the whole summer in “the land of PhuN”!

Mumbledore’s Missing Memories

Saanich Neighbourhood Playground Programs are safe, well-supervised, high-quality and affordable daycamp programs delivered in a park setting with plenty of active, imaginative play. Staff is enthusiastic, has current first aid, criminal record checks and has received training in child protection procedures. This unique program receives additional funding to help keep fees low for parents. A little rain…No problem, we have indoor facilities available for poor weather.

Mumbledore, resident wizard and historian of the Land of Phun, has lost his memory! Without the campers’ help, the secrets of the Land of Phun will be lost forever! Some of your phavourite characters are back for a journey through space, time and imagination to help Mumbledore regain his memories and ensure the Phun times are never phorgotten!

WEEK 1 JUNE 29, 30, JULY 2, JULY 3: WELCOME BACK 2015*

*Copley, Meadow and Reynolds Parks only Welcome back to your phavourite games and phriends in the Land of PhuN! This week we will remember what we love best about SNPP: Outdoor adventures every day of the week!

lawren pallot There are so many things to love about being a camp leader. But the best thing is getting to relive all my favourite childhood games like camouflage, and capture the flag and completely forgetting that this is a job! Because it is way too much fun! I think the children really enjoy innovation and creativity with the Saanich Neighbourhood Playground Programs, the simplest things often bring them the most entertainment because they get to use their own imagination to make things fun! I am always amazed what the campers think of with only a few pieces of equipment given the opportunity. When I was 9 years old I wanted to be a mermaid, this never changed.

My favourite part about being a summer camp leader is the fantastic kids that come through our programs -- they’re hilarious, creative, and often teach me more than I realize. This summer, youth in my camps will love the action-packed weeks and incredible out-trips. Hands down, this will be the best way to spend your summer!

Naomi Perry I love getting to work with so many different kids of various ages. It’s also awesome when you get campers repeating camps so that you get to know some of the kids really well over the course of the summer. Since I run a crafts and cooking camp, I think the kids really enjoy getting to have the hands on element in many of the activities. Oh, and obviously they like to eat the delicious things that they make.

SPLASH CAMP 5½ to 8yrs

Alex Smith I am most passionate about experiencing new things. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to meet so many new people and get to know many amazing campers throughout the summer. I like fresh challenges! Anything is possible at camp so who knows, you might discover something you never knew you liked or something you never thought you could do: like trying new sports, learning new crafts and games, or pushing yourself to achieve something. Camp is where you not only learn about others but also you learn new things about yourself At age nine I changed what I wanted to be every week. Princess, cashier, police woman, dancer, but the main one was a teacher. I would make up math tests that usually did not make sense and pretend to grade the tests.

Katie Hamilton What I like best is being a role model for the kids. Having a positive influence on their lives and spending my summer as a camp leader. I enjoy watching them learn, play and enjoy being at the camps. I believe the kids will enjoy the variety of games, arts and crafts and the whole experience of meeting new friends. When I was nine I often thought of being a Teacher.

YOUTH MOVIE MAGIC WORKSHOPS 10-14yrs

Jessica Patten The best part about being a summer camp leader is that my work schedule includes doing all my favourite summer activities: being outside, swimming, and going to parks/beaches! I’m running some very unique camps this summer, so I think that the kids in my camps should look forward to getting to do some very fun and out-ofthe-ordinary activities. For example: In Tuff Kidder they will be challenged to complete a variety of tasks, such as jumping in icy pools, balancing on wet beams and crawling through mud. What could be better?! Believe it or not, I have only ever had one career goal in mind since I was five years old: school teacher. Which I now am! But at nine, I probably also wanted to do something where I got to perform for people, like acting or dancing.

Summer Camps Emily Harris I love seeing smiling faces of young energetic children playing and enjoying the outdoors, while facilitating and co creating a fun environment for a memorable summer fun experience. Neal Donegani The best part of being a camp leader is getting to roll and learn along with campers through the summer. I believe in the accessibility the skateboard camp offers to all levels of skateboarders. When I was nine I think I wanted to be a veterinarian, but skateboard camp leader is way gnarlier.
