At Sunwest Auto, the customer comes first, always, no exceptions. 29 years ago, Sunwest Auto opened its doors with less than 10 employees in a small strip mall on Cliffe Avenue. On Halloween night of 1986, they relocated to their current location on Ryan Road. After expanding the Ryan road location and moving the RV dealership to its own location on Cliffe Avenue, between the auto and RV dealerships, the Sunwest Family today employs more than 50 people. General Manager, Gracellen Siba, has been with Sunwest Auto since owner, Barry Willis, first opened the doors in 1986. Sunwest Auto is proud to have many long-term employees. Many of their first class technicians started their careers in the Sunwest Auto carwash bay, later moving on to apprentice with Sunwest, before moving into their careers. The employees at Sunwest Auto are not the only component of the Sunwest Family. At Sunwest Auto, every customer who sets foot on the lot is warmly welcomed into the Sunwest Family. A customer’s relationship with Sunwest

Auto does not end after they drive their new vehicle off the lot, the staff at Sunwest Auto will continue to make sure that you and your vehicle will drive on, and on, and on for many years to come! Sunwest Auto strives to offer a positive experience for all of its Comox Valley customers and also those who travel from Port Hardy, Powell River, Nanaimo and Port Alberni. The staff at Sunwest will not hesitate to go the extra distance to help a customer. As for giving back to the community, Sunwest Auto leads by example by donating the caravan used by the Comox Bay Care Society and directing its operations to serve the homeless. They are proud and active supporters of many of the causes in the Comox Valley. This year, Sunwest Auto will again be the platinum sponsor of the Comox Valley Air Show. In the coming years, Sunwest Auto will continue to offer first class service from sales to service, always putting the customer first, no exceptions.

and their companions and treats every patient as an individual. We have recently expanded our hours, offering services every day of the week (including Sundays from 9am – 2pm) with our own team of veterinarians offering 24hr emergency on call services, 7 days a week.

Open Evenings!

It’s been 32 years since Rice Toyota first opened their doors in Courtenay. Over the years, the Comox Valley’s oldest single franchise automobile dealer has attributed their success to a couple of key factors. One of those things is the low pressure approach to helping their customers find the right vehicle for them. There is really no need to use pressure tactics on a new or repeat customer. Full disclosure is always offered. Andrew Rice believes the key to success is to listen to what your customers say and ask, when it comes to the variety of individual needs that each customer has. Longevity also plays an important role in how things are done at Courtenay Toyota. Tenure for the sales staff ranges from 7 to 27 years. The sales staff has a combined 231 years experience in the industry and 158 years at Courtenay Toyota, and they are the recipient of Toyota Canada’s Pinnacle Award for Excellence in Customer Satisfaction for 2013 and 2014. Familiarity helps to create long term relationships with customers. Trust is developed. Customers will comeback to work with “their personal advisor” to select their next vehicle.

We have provided the Comox Valley and Campbell River with the best tree service for nearly a decade. Big or small....we do it all.

We are proud to be a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. At Above & beyond Tree Service, our goal is 100% customer satisfaction on every job. With extremely safe, efficient and productive crews, we continue to offer our ever expanding clientele the best value in all aspects of the tree business. Our reputation is outstanding and we strive everyday to keep it that way. Word travels fast in small towns and through this we have built a huge customer base of residential, commercial, municipal, regional, and military clients. We are not a huge USA based tree company rather a home grown local company that employs local workers with families who spend their dollars right back in our local economy. Our crews employ I.S.A. Certified arborists with the latest gear, machinery, equipment and techniques. Every year our fleet of bucket trucks, chip trucks, chippers, and stump grinders grows. Let us show you why we are the premier tree service in the Comox Valley / Campbell river.

Piercy’s - Mt. Washington Funeral Home has been providing exceptional funeral and cremation services to the Comox Valley since 1941. For 74 years, our commitment has remained unchanged and yet, our funeral home has always responded to the changing needs of our community. We operate the only local crematorium in the Comox Valley.

Island Honda first opened its doors in the very early 1980’s in a humble 5,000 square foot building. Today, we are operating out of a modern 21,000 square foot facility complete with a 6 car drive in service reception area, a 7 car showroom, and a 5,500 sq ft service shop.

At Island Honda, we strive to provide First Class Customer experience from vehicle purchase to vehicle Service.

In 1978, Honda began construction of its first US manufacturing facility, in Marysville, Ohio to produce Honda Accord models. The first Honda Accord rolled off the assembly line November 1st, 1982. The choices were limited at 2 Accord body styles initially. The Accord has been produced in the plant since then and in 1986, Honda began production of the hugely popular Civic models in this plant as well. The Civic is now the #1 selling car in Canada for the last 17 years. Honda America Manufacturing began shipping Accord models to Japan from Ohio in 1988... (an industry first)...1988 was the same year Honda produced it 1 millionth vehicle at the plant! Since that day, Honda has not looked back. Today, the original plant in Ohio produces Honda and Acura models and Honda manufacturing facilities have been constructed in a few US locations as well as a

#1 CIVIC

plant in Alliston, Ontario, built to produce many Honda and Acura models (1986) as well as motorcycle and car engines and transmissions. The top selling Civic and the award winning CRV (2015 Motor Trend SUV of the year) are produced today in the Ontario plants (in operation since 1986). At the present time, all but 1 Honda model is produced in North America for Canadian consumers. Honda product line is recognized by the automotive industry as having the highest reputation for product durability and reliability and, they are among the safest cars on the road; all models have either a 5 Star or 5 Star Plus crash test safety rating. Honda vehicles reputation gives them the highest resale and residual values in the industry allowing Honda to offer customers true value whether they purchase or lease their next new Honda or purchase a second hand model.

We offer complimentary inhome consultations and expert installation service by our certified installer.

Our most important rule of customer service is to stand behind the product we sell and take care of the client’s needs long after the original installation. Dealing with the most reputable manufacturer Hunter Douglas makes this fairly easy as they also want to make certain the client’s needs are met. Having a family run business allows us to stay focused on the client first. We are excited about the future of our business! We have loved our move to our little location in Comox and had great reviews from our clients and friends. We have brought in Kathy Slater to join our team, she is born and raised in the Comox Valley so anyone that knows Kathy, knows how fortunate we feel to have her part of our growing business. Our mission is to make certain that our client’s feel that they received great service from beginning to end of the project. That they received fair pricing for the highest quality product and at the end of the day, they will have the confidence in us to refer their friends.

Other partners were Mr. Searle, Mr. Welsh, Mr. Pisto, Mr. Paxton, Mr. Peterson, Mr. N. Woodrow and since 1994 Cathy and Derek Newnes. Continuing with Searle’s long history, Derek and Cathy and their trained competent staff continue the dedication the store has had to its customers and the community. 40 Knots Vineyard For Brenda Hetman-Craig and Layne Craig, Vancouver Island presented the perfect opportunity for the lifestyle change they were seeking. Layne’s background was agriculture and Brenda’s was business management and they were looking to spend their retirement savings on a business that would give them enjoyment and create a legacy. 40 Knots Vineyard and Estate Winery is the promise of a dream. Located in the Comox Valley, 40 Knots crafts wines distinctly shaped by wind and sea on a sun-soaked glacier till vineyard. Following environmentally ethical farming practices and traditional wine making methods under the direction of a Master Wine Maker, 40 Knots offers lively and balanced wines bursting with aromas and lingering flavours. Brenda and Layne’s true enjoyment comes from sharing their work through serving their wine to the wonderful people that come to the winery. The Craig’s repeat to many how appreciative they are to own a business in an economically sophisticated community where people from all industries work together for common success. To the Craig’s, they are indeed finally home.

Your local Co-op is here for you. We live where you live, work where you work and we are helping grow the economy right here — just as it has been since your Co-op opened for business. There are many great reasons to join the Comox Valley Co-op! Our Co-op is locally owned and community focused - just like you. Owners, or members, are like an extended family that are also regular shoppers and, in effect, own the store. Your lifetime membership ensures you have a long-term say in how the organization grows through our locally elected Board of Directors. Our Co-op is always accountable and accessible to you. We publish local financial reports and hold local annual meetings to report on operations and answer your questions. All Co-op personnel, right up to the General Manager and President of the Board of Directors, are accessible to customers. Decisions affecting the Co-op are also made locally and in the best interests of the members and the wider community not in remote head offices.

When you purchase a lifetime membership, you become an owner in the co-op, and begin generating equity that grows each and every time you purchase fuel or food products. At the end of each year, a percentage of that equity is paid back to you in cash. Pick up a membership package at either of our Comox Valley locations, or download the membership PDF from our website to get started!

Joining the Co-op also serves a great financial investment that keeps paying

you back. Once you’ve secured a minimum equity of $100 you will enjoy annual “cash back” dividend each year. This adds up quickly and is in addition to any bonus point programs you may enjoy through your payment method, whether it is debit or credit card. Founded in 1960, the Comox Valley Co-op supports over 4,500 members throughout the Valley. We are a successful, locally owned and member-driven business that supports the community.
